What "man jobs" have you done today?

It's a no brainer really. I'd only need 4 boards at less than £50 a pop. Will opt for the expanding foam adhesive rather than dot and dab dry wall mix having watched a couple of YouTube videos. Need to sweet talk my mate with a van to pick boards up for me..
Yeah I used the foam adhesive. The patented @-Mason method is the one to follow. I mitred the edges for the reveals etc. Search my post history and it should come up - it was part of my bedroom build and bathroom build.

Finally got round to looking at our fence at the back of the garden and realised it was in such bad condition the neighbour has actually put his own fence up in front of it :p

So spent a day ripping ours down, cutting it up and ferrying it to the skip. Also painted the neighbours fence, was the least I could do :D

SO did you also gain an extra bit of garden :D

Nothing particularly special but in our wet room downstairs (which is also our utility room - it's quite a large room to be honest should be split into 2 at some point) I installed an adjustable clothes hanger which is very heavy duty.

My GIs are a pain to dry and the best place was here so they could have some space for air circulation but also be able to use unused space and hang heavy duty clothing when we do wash them or hang large sheets etc... it's quite useful having a moveable bracket like this and needed to be sturdy to cope with some weight. It extends to 90cm which is actually pretty decent.

Drilling in tiles though is always nerve wracking for me, though it all went well. It gives us more options for hanging stuff indoors when we don't use the garden line.

Picking up leaves, not enough room in the garden bin this time of year

Tidying the shed after a rat got in there, good chance for a sort out

Gym next

Then 6 RGB garden spotlights to add when they arrive later. Should be able to plug into my gym and run around the garden from there, should be long enough to light up the bits I want I think, one directly up into the birch tree should look good.

I presume they agreed to you using their fence as the boundary and painting the side facing you? I had a neighbour paint his side of my fence/concrete posts in a previous house, he wasn't too pleased when he had to pay to replace it all!

Brought about 1/3 of the loft up to 100mm of insulation. Managed to get some over the bedroom bay window which was really awkward to access, so I'm pleased about that. The middle third is boarded with what looks like only newspaper under it.. *sigh*. So at some stage I'm going to bite the bullet and rip that up, loft leg and insulate the rest. That's a job for the future I think.

The loft has lots of polythene sheeting stapled to the rafters. I assume this is actually bad and trapping moisture. So I think I'll rip all this out unless anyone thinks differently?

He put the fence up without asking me. If he wants me to put up another fence, he can come and ask me. Not sure what the point in having two fences is though.

I have a row of conifers there anyway.

Recent jobs.

Fitted two new taps in en-suite and bathroom. Previous were pretty crap 15 year old taps from when house was built.

Had to redo bathroom and it is still weeping. Not a drip yet though.

For en-suite I used some jointing compounding and all good

Done the leaves twice in the garden. One for time needed.

Neighbour came over and we removed my old internal front door. The porch has been converted so second door wasn't needed, I save a trip to the tip and he gets a solid lockable door for his shed!

It's also made the threshold slightly nicer without a door frame to step over, and it all came out with almost no damage. Wins all round.

It’s a job for. Ow given we are going into winter!

Yes, take it out, it’s pointless where it is. You could reuse it down between the joists though as it is a reasonable insulator

He doesn't need to ask you to put up a fence on his land. You do need to ask permission to paint someone else's fence as otherwise its criminal damage.

Well he's not said anything, so I take it he's happy :)

He's probably chuffed at not seeing my knackered old fence behind his.

Hopefully.

However its not a risk anyone should take and the neighbour at my previous home had to pay a few thousand to fix his arrogance. It wasn't a nice colour and I had already purchased top end pressure treated close lap panels so painting was not required and the paint dribbled through. Also, if the boundary fence is your responsibility you do have to provide something, although in practice some fence posts and wire is deemed acceptable.
