Cant decide on a PSu to get for when i do my next build, i defo want modular though. I plan to be running Q9450, will be overclocked, will have 4GB RAM, possibly upgraded to 8Gb later on, most probably only 1 HDD, but i plan on getting the GeForce GTX 280 as the GPU, and it seems power hungry, so what would be my best choice for PSU? (I was looking at Corsair 620 as i have had good experience with them before, but from reading around it seems it may be pushing it abit with 620 and the GTX 280?)

620W will probably suffice. People tend to overestimate their power needs because there isn't really a solid system to determine how much power you're using without whipping out the voltmeter and ammeter.

Agreed. And SlyReaper, Corsair do a 750W, but its non-modular.

corsair 620w is pretty much bang on. so its perfect for that spec.
i dont think the 750w is needed + its non modular. so the fact that you only have one hdd, its not worth it unless you want cables all over the place.

a corsair 620w would be overkill, but its one fine psu. a 520w would do it no problem if you want to save money.
520 won't be enough... It wasn't for me even with an 3800x2
the moment I plugged in my 8800GTX system was rebooting during gaming.
I recommend you get a 750w minimum.... just to be futureproof...
maybe u wanna sli or crossfire later on... u cant go wrong with more

a 520w corsair will be more than enough if a 620w corsair can handle 8800gtx sli.
What was the rest of your system? I've seen plenty of people running GTXs on 520W and even less.
I just got myself a Coolermaster Real Power 850w Modular and it seems like a top PSU so far.
Went for the 850w to futureproof.( for a little while )
Makes a nice change to see someone else buy a coolermaster, rather than going for the standard corsair

Not just to be different mate, most people probably haven't tried coolermaster so they wouldn't appreciate the quality they offer.
Its the same thing with the 8800GT, everyone recommends it no matter what, yet there are still better cards out there.

yes but the point it, the corsairs are the best psu's for the money. when that changes, the recommended will change, believe me
