Just finished a replay of Arkham Asylum plus 100% achievements, thoroughly enjoyed it especially with all the PhysX effects and stuff dialled up to maximum - it's subtle but does add a lot of atmosphere especially the smoke and stuff
And just started playing "Resonance" a retro-throwback 16-bit point and click I picked up in the last Xmas sale I believe... Now, I'm a sucker for these type of games - loved Beneath a Steel Sky back in the day, and Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, etc etc etc... Resonance is really awesome so far - the story hasn't really got going yet but you appear to jump back-and-forth between several characters whose relationship to each other is initially unknown, and quite a sci-fi story about some scientists...
They've managed to capture the same sort of sarcastic, funny, tongue-in-cheek humour that I loved in the classic point and clicks, and though I'm not far into it the puzzles seem to be pretty intricate. There are a few ideas I don't recall from the older games in the genre, like being able to store a number of objects in the scene in your "short-term-memory" allowing you to refer to them in dialog options with other characters. The puzzles aren't as ridiculous and obscure as those in Day of the Tentacle (so far) but they are are still clever enough to require some proper thought
It's on Steam sale for £1.74 right now I think so if you fancy a bit of a blast from the past I doubt it will ever get much cheaper
