At home between 4-8mbs. At work over 8mbs (leased line).

its in bits not bytes per second
Connections are quoted in bits, so you have a 4000kbit connection according to that...or 4mbits

That's not a bad speed for a 2Mbps service. Remember you are never going to get the full speed on a speedtest due to overheads, background programs using bandwidth, heavy local traffic, heavy traffic on the remote server (it's being OcUKedmrdbristol said:Mean't to be 2Mb , why is it so slow ?
Further to the above, as with all BB providers it is an 'Up To' 24Mbps service, the provider is in no way obliged to provide the full speed if it is not possible in your case.
