She actively and knowingly committed treason, has zero remorse about it and is only looking to come back because IS got stomped.
Yet some utterly clueless fools will say we should take her back with open arms. Utterly incomprehensible.

Actually, she is if she was brainwashed/radicalised. She may well have been taken advantage of, and being taken advantage of doesn't always have to relate to sexual abuse.
However, it doesn't mean she should get a free pass. If we are what we say, a progressive and civilised society, then we should judge her for her deeds but also consider rehabilitation.
It's a bit of a tricky situation. Lock her up and it could be seen as evidence that we aren't civilised (see my point above). Let her go and there's a risk that she could radicalise Futher or others, or fail to reintegrate into society and need a constant watch.
Priority is the security of the nation and safety of citizens...
This is why you have to be harsh, but firm in cases like these. Kindness will only get you taken advantage of. People who have never known this concept, however, will willingly frolic about in their naivety.
She is no more a victim than a committed national socialist was.

She wouldn't be wanting to come back if ISIS hadn't been defeated and were still terrorising regular Syrian people, from what she's said there's no remorse there just regret that ISIS has failed. As I've said in the last thread if she's allowed back in then the main thing is that she shouldn't be allowed to raise her child, all of the "think of the baby" emotive BS works both ways, we shouldn't be letting impressionable children be raised by someone who has sympathies for ISIS and thinks nothing of beheadings.

You can't stop (forever) one of your citizens from returning home, nor can you make them stateless.
I don't think Syria want to put her in prison.

I may have understood if she had played the victim card ie she acknowledged she had made a mistake etc, but she still supports ISIS. Maybe she can strike a deal with the Intelligence agencies, but at the minute we cannot be sure she is not a trojan horse and once back on UK soil facilitates an attack - a very tough decision for all that is involved.
Probably, I am trying for a nuanced and serious conversation in GD so I must not be firing on all cylinders!

Probably an ill-advised comparison but the comparison was more young girls being groomed into believing things that aren't right rather than equating the two as equally innocent.
Don't get me wrong, I really struggle to have any sympathy for her at all, I have no idea what the right course of action is. But at the same time I am not really ready to join the rabble in baying for blood.
