What TV shows are you currently watching

Just finished the second episode, feels familiar to the movie (which was brilliant). Loving it, even if it is very stressful to watch.
Second episode was quite hard hitting, and all too familiar. Did encounter that situation in a kitchen workplace all-beit not during shift but someone in their staff accommodation. The show seems to be dealing with some of these common traits of high pressure hospitality environments quite genuinely. I'm sure others almost have a bingo card of things they have experienced!

Alcoholism, Depression, Drug Use, Bullying, One mans Banter is anothers being on the end of abuse, Loosing your social life, a-hole customers, meddling investors/owners to name a few!

4 episodes into Silo and both myself and my wife are utterly engrossed, well paced, no filler, quality actors showing up all over the place, I have some theories but probably way off the mark. Eagerly enjoy sitting down each night after son has gone to bed for another episode.
1 episode to go, still engrossed, there was a single ropey episode half way through that gave me multiple eye rolls but the rest of the show has more than made up for it.

Episode in question
Sheriff picks lock with a quick wiggle from pin off badge, sheriff gets involved with poor foot chase that has some questionable action, Super Sims bad guy throws his colleague off the railing, may as well have had flashing lights behind victim stating 'this guy is going to die' - whole episode was amateur hour
Felt like they had some 1st day intern writing the episode that day.

If I had to pick one thing that consistently irks me, how does Common keep getting roles, he's got the acting range of a Mr Men book.

Finally got some time to get Invasion a go, and while I think it was off to a bit of a slow start I thoroughly enjoyed the first season!

That will hopefully fill the Foundation & Wheel of time shaped hole in my life until they're both back

I wasn't going to watch it but your description has definitely piqued my interest!

A month or so back there were a lot of comments around Spartacus and all the b00bies, so I thought I'd better give it a watch. (Tbf, 8.5 on IMDb is not to be sniffed at)

Actually, even if you removed the b00bies (which from what I'm reading, was probably a rather accurate depiction) it's a pretty good show. It's a little OTT with the blood, which is almost comical at times, but it's interesting reading now how much of it was accurate to what we know of history. As long as you're not offended by the b00bs (and more I guess) I would recommend it.

Also, started the new season of Brassic, which is simply brilliant. One of the better shows on TV tbh.

Shame about the last episode, absolutely awful. Nothing happens. All emotional crap about characters I couldn't give two craps about.. A night club scene, mostly of people just dancing, I can't see any reason for.

The show just works better when it's in the kitchen.

First three episodes were great though. Hopefully ends there and doesn't turn into some generic drama season thing.

Agreed, ep 4 was the weakest, seemed to tail off as if they had ran out of steam/not sure how to finish season off. Investor spilling out info while drunk was a bit naff for example. Didn't feel it was as strong as first three EPs for sure. Still think it has legs (the bear has shown this subject matter had potential if done well) so will have to see what they do with it in the future.

Finished Silo, think it's one of the standout shows of the year - i've already mentioned my grumbles but I can't really fault much of it outside of that, I eagerly await new seasons - would give it an 8/10.

Credit has to go to Rebecca Ferguson though, she's a remarkable actress, thinking across her roles in quite a few films/TV now, she's very versatile, hasn't suffered any type casting and has been totally convincing in any role she's done. She might not be too bad on the eyes either.

Thankyou, thankyou, everyone i have talked to about this show dosnt seem to notice how poor that guys performance is. With rebecca ferguson and tim robbins being excellent as usual. I cant remember the exact episode but its the one where he gets really really angry and it was just embarrassing. Can only hope for maybe less screen time next season

Ted Lasso on Apple TV, worked through the first teo seasons and now on the last two episodes of season three. It's been really good with some great character development, humour and motivational elements. Would highly recommend it
On the last few episodes of this myself, as someone that has zero interest in football this is a cracking bit of TV, great characters (especially Roy Kent!), funny and has a real feel good factor about it.

Got through all the seasons of Manifest over the past few months. I know some gave up after S1 and it had a random path in some of the seasons but Netflix taking over and giving closure to a series that was canned after S3 meant it ended better than it could had it ran for 6 seasons as they originally wanted.

Currently watching Invasion (2021) on Apple TV.

Reminds me of a mixture of Invasion type shows from the early 2000s.

It's slow, atmospheric in places, and some characters can be annoying. I quite enjoy it though. It's more about the characters' individual stories and struggles than anything else.

It gets slammed with a 6/10 in IMDB
