What TV shows are you currently watching

Finished Season 3 of The Bear, seems to have lost its edge, most of the series was spent fleshing out the characters, for a series in its 3rd season its not something i would necessarily expect nor need, i guess there building for future series?. However it still does the high tension/emotive scenes very well and goes someway to showing just how much effort goes into pretentious fine dining plates.

Rarely seems to be done well in a show.

Yeah I think the last one I really loved was Joan Hickson as Miss Marple.

Although the scandic noir's and French (spiral) seem to have more likable characters in them.

Sweet Home season 2.
On episode 7 of 8 and just switched off after 30 minutes.

I really liked season 1 but this is terrible. Nothing has really happened, nothing makes any sense and I have no idea what the story is meant to be.
Not even sure I can be bothered finishing it.

Only started watching this now, on Season 1. Holy cow lol!!

Billions. This went down hill extremely fast after season 4. Don’t get me started with season 6 either they were better off cancelling the show before that travesty of a season.

I watched S03E01 of The Bear and about 10 minutes in wondered if I'd mistakenly watched some marketing/trailer thing... like a 30 minute set of cut scenes...

Finished Supacell last night.

Really enjoyed it but I think it needed an additional episode as it seemed to end a bit abruptly and you never know if you'll get a second season with how Netflix operates.

Also my wife found Big Mouth, this is excellent and superbly immature.

Two episodes in and struggling a little. Definitely not as good as the first two seasons so far.

I really liked it was a nice twist on the superhero genre but I do think it needed another episode. Really hope there is a 2nd season.

Big Mouth starts amazing. S1 is fantastic, S2 was fine and a few cheap laughs but then it seemed to just fall off of a cliff.

We're only on episode 3 of Big Mouth and it's been pretty funny although not as good as the first episode. Shame to hear it goes downhill, had thought we'd found a long running easy watch!

Finished the Inspector Lynley mysteries.

He seemed to have a complete personality change in the very last episode.

The female detective only got more annoying as time went on but I warmed to posh Inspector Lynley by the end!

So on the Turkish Detective now.

It's certainly watchable so far and there seems to be a particular story for 2 episodes but with a few long running stories in the background.

Love seeing Istanbul, Turkey.

Never been but it looks lovely and hot and making me feel very envious considering our wonderful British summer weather!

Part way through Supacell, enjoying it so far. EP4 has left it nicely for me to binge 5 & 6 and then wonder if a new season will be commissioned by Netflix.

Decided to give From a try, blasted through season 1 in a couple of nights. It’s not as good as The Walking Dead but not bad at all.

It’s sadly been a while since I’ve watched anything gripping that gets you hooked.

I recently found a series called "Evil" on US netflix - heard nothing about it previously but was instantly taken with it. Watched the entire first series and half the second one so far and absolutely loving it, it's the best thing I've seen for ages (so obviously it's just been cancelled).

Finished The Turkish Detective last night and it was pretty good.

Nothing too taxing or heavy (IMO) so a nice and easy watch.

Then watched the BBC documentary on The Plymouth Shooter from 2021 and then a short documentary on the Clapham Acid attacker from earlier this year.

Now trying to catch up with 7 episodes of Emmerdale and jesus, that's just as depressing and dark with their ongoing emotional abuse storyline which is far too close to home.

Might need to watch some baby pandas or something for a while! Lol!

so finished the wire again. im actually surprised how much this is rated 2nd time round havent seen it all for 20 years nearly and id say its a 7 out of 10. having watched the shield recently too id put the shield above it tbh.

its very interesting how tastes changes and shows age. it hasnt aged well and when you watch it through again some of it is just normal cop show stuff. not really special. yet it gets rated as one of the best shows of all time.

i wonder how many of these top ten shows will fair similar in years to come.

Watched all 6 episodes of the End of Summer scandi noir last night.

It was certainly very watchable.

Decided to try and watch Enterprise again, it's been a few years.
I have to say with these 24-episode seasons there was a hell of a lot of filler episodes, still a level above Discovery for character development.
