What TV shows are you currently watching

Two series or so in of The Brothers on talkingpicturesTV. The 1970's as it actually was warts and all. Right at the start of Europe EEC, transport company, industrial relations, continuous drinking, plenty of smoking. Very good fun made in the seventies too.

Finished watching Return To Paradise, well the wife wanted to watch it so I kind of got dragged along.

I know it's meant to be light drama with a bit of humour but the whole thing just seems a bit twee. "Dolphin Cove" seems to be the murder capital of NSW, but there is no other discernible crime. No teens causing trouble, no vandalism or grafitti, no shoplifting or larceny, no drugs, no gangs. Not even anyone on the road speeding. The police force seems to consist of a happy go lucky group who I dread to think what they would do if they came up "Bulletproof Tony" or someone of similar ilk. There's little angst and none of the suspects ever seem to end up in a spartan interrogation room being given the good cop/bad cop routine. In fact the eventual criminals are pathetically co-operative, going along to a low security location while the (unarmed) police reel off the big denouement in Poirot style.

I know the Americancop shows are not that realistic either with most times the suspect being shot dead resisting arrest but the soft touch of RTP is rather ludicrous! They could make it just a little bit more down to earth and gritty.

Does it get better? I remember the first episodes being all over the place.

The stories can be quite convoluted.. but they all come together, and are quite clever.. plus the acting is good, even Martin Freeman's Minnesota accent is ok ;)

I enjoyed them on first watch anyway, and am enjoyed the re-watch so far..

Industry s2 finale.

The writing has been bad, the motivations of people poorly defined, the financial mumbo jumbo worse than Billions, and i've hated the main char Harper. But it's all coming together in the last ep and while very far fetched in terms of narcissism and back stabbing, I think i'll watch s3 (i've heard it's a banger)

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to watch it so good to get your thoughts on what you've seen so far.
