What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Played through the story mode on Gnomes And Goblins last night.

It really is quite something, they've created a magical ride that does nothing but make you smile. Id say it's more of an experience over that of a game, though there are things to do with some fantastic physical interaction that fits in well with the tale told.

You really need a heavy lifter to get it looking at it's best, but if you've that it's an incredible ride through, above a level of anything i have experienced before of this type of story telling in VR.

When you toss the sky lantern at the end, it's hard not to feel all warm and happy.

In Death Unchained gets most of my playtime on my Quest recently. I'm amazed how good this port is considering how limited the Quest hardware is. It's very addictive and nails the bow and arrow mechanics.

That just makes me wish valve would make an official Portal VR.

The Lab's robot repair and Aperture Hand Labs experiences are amazing, and show how great the Portal universe looks in VR. GlaDOS is huge in VR, really intimidating.

I think the issue with Portal is that it relies on jumping through portals and being accelerated and falling, which will probably make even VR veterans sick.

Yeah that's very true. And then again I wouldn't think that valve would want to effectively limit the features of a VR portal game to have no aerial faith plates or major drops and flying. As much as I think lots of people would love just a walking and no flying through the air portal game, I don't think it would live up to the expectations of a portal 2 sequel and it would certainly dissapoint as much or more people.

Maybe they are waiting for new tech that helps reduce that sickness feeling. Perhaps that computer-brain interface Gabe was so excited about is the next step for vr games and experiences.

Side note, I was absolutely terrified of GlaDOS in Aperture Hand labs, you don't really appreciate the scale of things untill you actually see them with depth and scale . A boss fight in vr with GlaDOS would be on a whole other level of terrifying for me.

Played a bit more of No Mans Sky in VR last night since the latest update. Performance does seem a bit better, though it still looks blurry and the performance is still nowhere near good enough.

I did some chill experiences, TheBlu (which looks absolutely totally amazingly stunningly real on an Index at 120hz) and Aircar. I'm finding I'm using my Index more for seated experiences as the lack of room to move around in my Attic is getting annoying, and I can use my Quest for full roomscale in my lounge.

It's funny though because I've trained myself to stand still, feet planted and make large turns using thumbsticks when using the Index to protect the cable and prevent me hitting things, but when playing the Quest I have to remind myself that I can move around more and turn freely.

Phasmophobia is worth a punt if you enjoy the fright. Pitch black darkness mixed in with horrific sounds that go straight through you, it's a winner in VR and worth the overwhelming positive status from it's reviews.

Aside from checking out new games, it's been the return of VPX VR pinball taking up most of my time. The 4k photo realistic tables that people have made practically look and play like the real thing.

I saw someone mention a free VR racing SIM the other week (can't remember if it was on here or Reddit) but for the life of me I can't find anything. Anyone able to point me in the right direction or were they talking nonsense?

Probably Race Room, it's free with buy in content. In all honesty though just wait for Pcars2 or Assetto to drop on sale price, they go for £3/£6 respectively and offer insane value.

Recommendations for best seated experiences? I guess Flight/Racing sims, but I don't have a flightstick. Definitely going to get one now (flight stick, not wheel). Would like to hear of other seated experiences though.
