What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Sorry man, I am feeling lazy today, but any chance you could link to the Skyrim mod pack that you mentioned not so long ago? haha, I am too lazy even to look back through your posts :p

and is it ok just to download it and install? I want as little faffing about as possible. Or can you select what parts of the mod pack you want to use when you go to install it?

The installation guide is here:

It is a bit of an involved process, but the Wabbajack program automates 90% of it.
For best results you need a Nexus Mods premium account, which allows faster automated downloading. That cost £3.50 for a month but is well worth it.

The end result though is a radically improved game, with better visuals, full IK body presence, voice activation and many other improvements.

The biggest issue is the game is much more prone to crashing.

You lost me at "involved" :p

Seriously, though, thanks Ravenger.

Might give a go during the week, when I am feeling less lazy.

Also been playing a lot of Doom 3 Quest on Quest 2, and a couple of rounds of Walkabout Mini Golf multiplayer with my Wife. I really recommend Walkabout Mini Golf if you want a chill experience that's great for MP socialising too.

I should have followed your guide. I went looking myself for a simple one for a lazy person like me. And I found this

The Lightweight Lazy List - An Incremental Modding Guide - Google Docs

But, man, it turned out to be such a PITA. I am sorry I started, it's taking me forever. It's not in anyway automated.

Thanks for posting. I went looking for this the other week when I almost caved in an bought Skyrim VR. I've made sure to save the post this time.

Only thing putting me off is every time I try to get back in to Skyrim, I spend tens of hours messing around with mods, and then get bored a few hours in to the game. I can't shake the feeling that the VR version will be the same thing.

Saving this for a rainy day.

Really tempted to buy Skyrim VR. But every time I try to get back in to Skyrim, I spend tens of hours messing around with mods, and then get bored a few hours in to the game. I can't shake the feeling that the VR version will be the same thing.

That's my worry!! I am only halfway through installing the mods and I am bored already :(

I forget the name of the modding guide, but I spent ages following one a couple of years ago. IIRC it took me several evenings. The result was amazing. But then I just couldn't get in to the game.

I wound up deleting it a few months ago as I needed the HDD space. Then I nabbed the Xbox version over Christmas, spent an hour or two modding that, followed by an hour or two playing, and then getting bored again :p

I've now played over 230 hours of Skyrim VR, probably over 100 of that in the ultimate modded version. I'm not bored yet! (That also doesn't count the 260 hours on the original Skyrim plus the 80 hours of the Special Edition ).

Skyrim VR, especially when modded is the biggest VR game out there. Fallout 4 VR is big, but it doesn't come close to the awesomness of Skyrim VR.

The Higgs gravity glove mod for Skryim VR is amazing! You can now grab objects physically, or use a distance gravity glove grab, just like HL: Alyx.

Really adds to the immersion when you can physically grab an item and look at it while holding it. Your hands now have collision so you can sweep objects of tables, etc.

I purchased REAKT: Performance Trainer VR today and gave it a go. Really interesting exercise program. It's not really for fitness, more about training your reaction times, vision and focus when you are tired. But, I would imagine, as you get better, that the workouts get increasingly more intense.

Tried it for about 20 minutes. It made me a little depressed as I got real numbers about my reaction times and vision. Did the competition at the end of the Tutorial and was terrible. Calling me Melmac - the sloth, is doing a disservice to sloths!! :p

But, on the plus side, I can see how using this in VR every day would really improve your timing and awareness.

Anyone tried the pool game in sports bar. Wondering if its worth buying it for that

No, I haven't, it's one of those games I used to keep thinking about buying, but, never pulled the trigger. I am not sure I would even consider buying it now though. It was a good early VR game, however, I think it's day has past at this stage. I would only consider it if I could get it on sale.

Best game I’ve played in VR by far is Subnautica. This was a long time ago with my Rift. Most immersive and addictive. Only VR title I’ve lost track of time with.
Having the headset on matched the underwater face mask. The visuals, sound, and story, plus the whole upgrade and build system.
So gutted they haven’t done VR for the sequel

I've got back into Subnautica, now I've got a 3090 and even that card can't run it at max detail level in VR at a constant 90fps on my Index. I've had to dial things down and reduce supersampling. Makes me realise how good the motion smoothing was on my old Oculus Rift as I used to play this at 45fps at Rift resolution on a 1080ti and it worked great (though looked nowhere near as sharp and clear as on the Index).

It's hands down the best pool game available in VR. Nothing has even come close to the level of quality, graphically or in playability terms. Other features they added like being able show your own videos on the screens, play your own tunes on the juke box, really seal the deal and give you that standing in a pub playing pool vibe. Additionally the AI will give you a heck of a challenge, the online play is seamless and crossplays over pc and psvr. Originally called Pool Nation VR, they transitioned in to The Sports Bar VR adding in everything you see now, giving the game a broader appeal.

I apologise if that comes across as aggressive melmac, but you couldn't be more wrong with your blind shot at it. Even after nearly 5 years nothing has come even close to matching up with what they accomplished. You want a game of pool in VR, it's the go to game.

I did get it last night and the feel and physics of the game feel really good. The controllers seemed a bit hit and miss sometimes. Would really like a virtual pool 5 in vr as I'd like a full size snooker table
