What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Played through another hour or so of Alyx tonight. I absolutely hate head crabs. Even when I’ve seen them for a good few seconds the jumping at me is too much lol

Got my HOTAS setup with Squadrons and ran through part of the first mission again. It’s not perfect (controls or graphically) but I do love it.

oh and like @Unseul above I played the first 20 mins or so of Asgard’s Wrath and thought it seemed really quite cool. Can’t wait to play more

What did you do to get the controls working?

Select the community bind 'updated G2 controls' i can't remember the user name of the guy off hand, but i think it's dated the 11th of december of last year. Works amazingly well with only a couple of issues. Scrapping items at the workbench with the right stick press to the left is hit and miss, and the favourites reticle doesn't function too well on the left and right select as it requires both the toggled selector and a stick press (top and bottom select is fine as it's mapped on the A/B buttons)

Everything else though is knock on perfect, far more joyous than the track pad of the old Vive wand and the finicky Index efforts. Takes a while to learn everything, you go with it and get stuck, ask away.

As it was raining this morning I forwent my usual run and instead did a VR workout on the Quest 2 of Pistol Whip, FitXR, and Thrill Of The Fight.

Not as strenuous as a 4 mile run, but at least it exercises different muscles.

I've seen lots of pro Alyx posts about and I agree that valve have done a great job, but is it just me who struggles with its difficulty, it's just a bit difficult even on easy setting. I've had to resort to cheats to progress and I often watch chapter walkthroughs to see how to solve a puzzle etc. Still enjoying it.

Played some more of Doom3 Quest this morning, with the latest update, and I'm astounded this is possible on the Quest 1 / 2. I dropped the brightness a bit to more match how it felt on PC, and I feel this makes quite a bit of difference.

Not had an issue with difficulty, though my last save I did sprint past a couple of bigger enemies and now appear to be surrounded by them. Haven't gone back to it in a while, keep forgetting I have it. I expect I will have a challenge on my hands when I do.

I tend to get queasy playing it, even though using comfort settings. More so than other games. Dunno why. It also always feels slightly blurry.

The only exercise that I have done since September is the games I play in VR.

It's very good!! I am loving it. Has worked perfectly for me so far. Playing it with the 72 Hz mode. It was a great find, thanks for posting the link to it.

Must be my age why I find it difficult. I've also noticed I have less tolerance for jumps and scares and generally getting stuck in solving puzzles in vr.... everything is magnified when it's in vr.

I'm tapping this post out on a tablet with a headache, I've just spent 2 hours on project cars 2 with a g29 steering wheel + shifter + pedals, played with a reverb on a rtx 3090, so everything maxxed out. It was worth the headache... awesome experience.

I've just took delivery of a gunstock to use on vr fps like Onward, it has really helped with aiming.

Max out AMS2, it looks even better:eek:. The GT1 class at full pelt in VR is just pure incredible maxed out on the G2.

I just got a G29 shifter mount for my Playseat Challenge. I've had the shifter ever since I got the wheel but never had a way to mount it, until I spotted one on Ebay that was custom designed and simple to fit.

I thought the G29 shifter felt a bit rubbish, but when it's mounted it feels so much better. It really improves the driving experience.

Tried out Synth Riders. There is a demo on Sidequest. It's pretty good. If you like Beat Saber you should give it a go. It makes you move a lot more than Beat Saber does.

Is ams2 worth buying if I have pc2? Had a quick read up on it... like the sound of being able to drive karts. I like being able to drive vehicles that aren't ultra exotic.

Yeah I like the shifter too. I don't have a dedicated seat like you however, my wheel n shifter are just mounted on the table that holds my monitor + mouse + keyboard used with an office chair. They are solid and don't move but I am aware it could go wrong so I am a bit more gentle driving which might hinder me once I get really into it. So far so good though.

Short answer is no, AMS is all about the driving experience and promising the never never with their wonderful incremental updates and ambitious roadmaps. People like myself might go off like rabid fanatics when they drop new tracks and car classes, but the reality is most of what comes to the game can be found in project cars. PC2 is such a phenomenal all round package with it's awesome single player structure, popular multiplayer, and developed content that you'd be daft to recommend a bare bones game like AMS2 over it.

However if it's all about the driving experience for you, then Reiza seemed destined to never stop trying to make the perfect reflection of that, which Pcars will never be. Like i said earlier though the graphics, lighting, weather are a lot prettier, it seems a little less demanding than PC2, and i think that their recreations of the more popular tracks found in PC2, ACC ect.. look, scale and drive better. I really enjoy playing the game it's just very niche and not 20-30 multiplayer racer friendly, after an hour it's back to ACC to get back to that.

Worth it on a half off sale for what the game is to a casual spotter. £35 for a single race, hot lap simulator with 2 or 3 populated multiplayer servers on an evening, probably not.

Ohh and there are karts in PC2

Thx for the explanation. Doubt I will buy it right now then. I've only just bought pc2 so have plenty to be getting on with. Do you do multiplayer racing in vr? I bet that's pretty epic.

Grabbed Death: Unchained with the help of the 8 pound voucher on the store. Fantastic game although its solid. Really immersive, the colours are a bit grey/boring however the gameplay is great!

Just got around to installing the Fallout 4 Ultimate VR survival modlist, which radically transforms the game, and fixes a load of issues. First impressions are that it's finally playable on my Index, and looks great (but is very hard).

Also finally got out my racing chair and wheel, and gave my new 3090 a workout in Project Cars 2. I upgraded to get sims working better and this didn't disappoint. Nice to be running at a constant 90fps and it makes a huge difference to the gameplay.

Sorry man, I am feeling lazy today, but any chance you could link to the Skyrim mod pack that you mentioned not so long ago? haha, I am too lazy even to look back through your posts :p

and is it ok just to download it and install? I want as little faffing about as possible. Or can you select what parts of the mod pack you want to use when you go to install it?
