What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Was going to say this. Had a lot of fun with it. Didn't end up 100% in it since I needed the storage space and I'd had a long break, but had a lot of fun doing the storyline anyway.

I found the combat frustrating until I dropped it to the easiest level, then I enjoyed it. in all it's a great game, long, with some cool puzzles and sequences, though I thought the ending was a disappointment.

I loved the summoned companions responding to thumbs up, high fives and fist bumps. It's such a simple thing but it really adds to the feeling of them being really there. I miss it in games like Skyrim, where none of the other characters respond to gestures or other things you can do in their presence.

However, once modded to be a 'proper' VR game, the best RPG is Skyrim VR.

Thanks guys, once the windows Oculus app actually downloads a game without giving an error (anyone here got a fix for that?) I'll give it a go! :)

What mods does it need? I did try and follow some guides but there's just too many options. What's the basics in your opinion?

Basics to make it a proper VR game are:
Skyrim script extender (Required for other mods)
Sky UI (Total overhaul of the UI)
VRIK (Full body presence and body holsters + gestures for casting, etc)
Dragonborn Speaks Naturally (Voice recognition, speak lines(!), activate game features by voice command, speak shouts, etc.)
Higgs VR (Proper hand presence with physical interaction with objects, HL Alyx style gravity glove grabbing).
Be Seated (Allows you to pull up a chair and sit down at tables, etc, and order food and drink in taverns).

After that you can add whatever you like, but it's best to use one of the pre-defined modlists.
There's a program called Wabberjack which automates most of the modding process and allows installation of hundreds of mods at a time. It loads specific modlists and I use the Ultimate VR Essentials modlist which upgrades just about everything, and also adds lots of new content.

When I started to mod Skyrim Vr, I was lost and just wanted the basics too because everything looked so complicated. But, when I actually started one of the guides, I realised it wasn't actually that hard, just needs a little time. But it's time well worth investing!!

I followed this guide here.

Thanks both, I'll get on that as I do enjoy it but the vanilla VR felt a bit limited having to press A instead of actually doing things.

Thrill of the fight is exhausting. The bigger problem though is my elbows are screwed from jiu jitsu, and I can easily hyperextend them and that hurts. Throwing punches and not connecting with anything really isn't sensible for me... not going to stop for now though!

I gave myself a very bad case of tennis elbow once by playing VR boxing games. It took months to get better. I now make sure not to fully extend my arms when punching in those games.

I had tennis elbow already when I bought it. Only played once and it really hurt so I've not played since. Itching to have a proper shot!

Just to be clear, in In Death Unchained, the achievements I unlock carry over to the next game right? So I'll now always do extra long range damage because of the long range headshot achievement right?

Just got killed in my first run through and unlocked a load of things, made a ton of cash etc (well, I say a ton 10k), and unlocked the crossbow. Crossbow seems potentially overpowered? I can have my shield up and still fire it, I can rapid fire it etc? Looking forward to testing it out. Far more accurate with it than the bow from a quick bit of practice.

Everything you unlock carries over into future runs, and many of the unlocks use cumulative totals, so just depend on having killed a certain number of enemies of certain types in total over all your runs.

As you kill more enemies and unlock various pickups then harder versions of the enemies will unlock too with different behaviours, as well as harder side areas with decent rewards.

I prefer the original bow, as I like the skill involved (you really do notice that your shots are improving as you play more, and can perform some amazing shots). The crossbow is a bit OP, especially at close range.

This game is my most played Quest game, and probably my favourite of all my Quest games. I think the devs have done an amazing job porting it from PC, and improving it in countless ways.

So been playing a bit of in death. Doing more with the bow at the moment, got to say though, having now reached anakim, I think the shotgun potential of the crossbow could be handy... Not beaten him yet.

Been playing recklessly for the most part, just jumping in and firing quickly (and slowly accurately). Suspect I could probably save one or two hitpoints by not doing that though. Get the feeling I need to try and get better arrows for the anakim fight, but I'll work on that, shame there's not a shop just before though.

There are certain types of arrows that are very good against Anakim and his minions - but they take quite a bit of work to unlock.

Really need something to help with the ghosts. They're a pain in the bum with my accuracy. I just keeping running back and slowly pegging them.

The Barrage Of Needles arrow is good for ghosts (think shotgun), but the technique of running backwards while shooting at weak spot in the chest is the main way to get them. The thing is they turn really slowly so if you're in danger teleport beyond them and they'll take a while to turn and chase you.
