What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Picked up First Person Tennis on steam, currently 20% off. Seems decent after the first couple of matches. Serving isn't the easiest but I'm sure I'll improve with practice.

Seem to be just playing Skyrim VR lately. Using Ultimate VR modlist wabbajack addons.
Have oculus bitrate ret to 500, using USB link (2.4 Gbps).
Setting Steam VR SS so that it shows as over 300% still seems pretty blurry distance stuff And doesn’t look any different to default, GPU is well under 100% even at 350% SS.
Any other tweaks for getting distance to look less blurry/Compressed anyone suggest?

Do you have your oculus settings at 1.7?

Check what Unseul said and make sure you have it set to max resolution in the Oculus app.

And, I have modded Skyrim myself but didn't use the Wabbajack tool. Does it have an option for setting up Dyndolod? If not, that's a mod you should look into installing yourself. It makes a massive difference to distance stuff.

Yep, the Ultimate VR essentials modlist on Wabbajack installs dynolod.

I've managed to get Skyrim VR modded working on Quest 2 via Airlink, and for some reason it is still pretty blurry - it looks like compression issues. I had similar issues on the Link cable. It seems that Skyrim's image must be pretty 'noisy', especially in the distance so the compression just can't cope.

It definitely looks way sharper on my Index by comparison, even though the resolution is lower and the SDE is more apparent.

It's disappointing, as in all other respects it works pretty well.

Thanks guys. 1.4 is the maximum I can set rendering resolution in oculus app. That does look much sharper but my GPU can't cope, was down to 35ish FPS in Riften just now.
I've been running at 1.1 there, but will see what I can get away with, maybe higher res. but lower bitrate in the debug tool

There's part of your issue then :). Good to know we're resolving it. I believe there's an issue with the latest gen of graphics cards at the moment.

Hey Andy, have you any other setting changed in the debug tool?

What I would do first, is put the Steam Super Sampling down to 100% for the moment. Then turn the render resolution up to max in the Oculus app. See how the game looks and runs then. If runs good, then you can raise the super sampling in Steam until the performance drops too far for you.

Hey.
Only thing I’ve played with in Debug Tool is the sampling rate, from the default of 0 to 400, and recently 500.
In main Oculus app I have refresh set to 80Hz, and rendering now 1.2. This is with steam SS at default 100%.
Also there is an in game SS which the mod install instructions said to set to minimum. I have though upped that a little too.
With my current setting of 1.2 I’ve not seen much more than 85% GPU usage so I may experiment with 1.3.
I can also up the power limit for my 3090FE in MSI afterburner...where I’ve not bothered overclocking my GPU before.
Close up stuff looks amazing though and I just stop and stare at the textures and shiny looking surfaces sometimes

Your GPU should be well able to handle 1.7 in Skyrim. I have a 2070 Super and use a render resolution of 1.5 and 90hz. Steam at 100% SS. I would highly recommend you set it at 1.5 minimum.

Don't use the ingame SS option. Leave it at minimum. It's basically terrible and too taxing for the poor results it gives.

The Sharper Eye - a lightweight VR ReShade preset at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) Install this Mod if The wabbajack one doesn't have it installed.

Thanks Melmac. Weird but my oculus app only allows me to set 1.4 (5408 x 2736).
I’ll grab that sharper eye mod too cheers

Just noticed that. They must have changed it with V28. It only goes up to 1.4 on mine too. So, set it to 1.3 at a minimum, it's the same res as the 1.5 that I mentioned earlier.

Still haven't even reached the 3rd boss. Can reasonably reliably kill anakim, though good drops really help. Through a lot of cheese I can sort of keep on top of the bloody flying cupids. But when it's all jumbled together, and in large numbers, in the 3rd level, it becomes tough, especially without the right arrows! I dropped off my empty cupids wrath, in favour of full sets of weaker arrows, but reached the first shop without too much trouble, and it had 2x quivers!

Back playing Pistol Whip again. Started back playing a couple of weeks ago when a notification popped up about @RockSteddy beating my score. ;)

It's still a fantastic game. But, I have one, well two small problems with it. They are kind of linked. The First problem is that after nearly 20 years of playing Counter Strike, I shoot on sight. And in a game where it's about keeping a beat too, this doesn't work too well.

The second is that I ain't got no rhythm!! Seriously, I spent ages this week trying to get my beat score up, but it's always around 60% Have pumped up the metronome so I can feel the beat as well, but it hasn't made any difference. Tried using one gun and even tried using expensive headphones. Nothing has worked.

So I have stopped trying to keep the beat. The only thing is that slowing down a little has improved my accuracy score. But, when things get a bit hectic, I still fall back into counter strike mode without thinking!!

I don't know if any of you have tried using the Disorder and Vengeance modifiers, but, they really ramp up the difficulty. Especially the Vengeance one.

The guys with the top scores in this game impress me far more than the ones in Beat Saber. To be able to shoot at such high accuracy, while maintaining a beat and dodging the bullets the enemies are shooting back at you is just phenomenal. Those players are machines!!

Tried No Mans Sky again last night on my Index, and though performance still isn't great it was massively better than before. Looking at the desktop window it now mirrors each eye's image so it looks like they've stopped rendering the game twice - once in VR and once on the Desktop. Certainly it's much more playable at decent settings than before.
