What words / phrases don't you like?

^ absolute nonsense. Perhaps review who you spend time with.

e: you're in Christchurch which is the worst part of NZ for "Let's import broken English traditions about class" so I'm astonished the shipped-in community (like you and I, from memory?) can't run a sentence together.

I spend time with a lot of English people, which definitely use the word 'brought' correctly.

And, you know you've heard Kiwis mess this one up.

Aesthetic.

It doesn't really mean anything on its own. Something could be aesthetically displeasing. I can't stand how this has been harnessed to say aesthetically pleasing when it just doesn't work like that!

"Myself": I can't think of the last time I've heard it used in the correct context. Even with professional writers, on TV or movies, anything. "If you have any questions, please contact Mark or myself and we'll try to assist." *cringe*

This ****** me off too. "I'll send this quote over to yourself later". Exclusively used by idiots who are trying to sound smart. You sound smarter using the correct word i.e., you.

"You" is a tricky word, people get all defensive when it's used, so I try to avoid using it.

One aspect of that is when "you" can be substituted with "one" or "me" but the reader thinks it's specifically referring to them. E.g. when you post on the forum you have to expect some stupid replies.

I'm sure by page 6 it's been done already but people that say or write "I could care less" when they mean "I couldn't care less". Absolutely rage-inducing, mostly done by dumb Americans  YOU'RE SAYING THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU MEAN FFS!!!1

"At the end of the day"
"you know" (in between every ******* sentence... arrrrgghhhhh)
"Engineer" when you're not chartered... I'm sorry but you're a technician, you're an expert of course, but you're not an engineer.
"sick" (i.e. that's amazing/great)
Most Americanisms....
"should have"
