Agreed.

Personally, I have a lot of friends who "turned" goth, emo etc and they just look scruffy and people just think the worst of them.

They want to rebel and "be different" yet, all look the same...

where does the term "Emo" come from?

i mean someone somewhere woke up one morning, put some clothes on and had a htought "oh, this is a new look - what should i call it? ..i know, Emo!!" from which people started copying...

....does the word mean anything? what are its origins?

Emotional Hardcore

It's not a look, it's a type of music, and the type of music it is, isn't being made any more. The emo bands that get the label nowadays aren't anything much at all like the bands that started it. It came from hardcore punk in the mid 80's :)

Chavs will lose. Metallers would be immense in a fight, as long as they arent the lanky thin boys, but the big butch guys. Would be a great spectacle watching the chav kids being killed !!!!

Pffft emos suck, emo girls/scene girls (all the same TBH) especially the ones on myspaz. If they wernt showing all their flesh/underwear and the pictures were taken properly so you could see what they were really like veryone would realise they ming. Plus emos suck. FACT!

Sadly in todays world, metallers means puny skinny pasty idiots with linkin park splashed across a t-shirt. True metallers are hard to come by.
