What's the most expensive meal you've bought?

Not the most expensive but CAD60 dollars for a cup of tea at the Empress hotel in Victoria B.C was pretty expensive. Only did it because the queen does it when she visits lol.

I've only paid for a private place once which cost me and a girl £50. Was absolutely excellent service, the guy was very accomodating and pandered to a few cheesy requests.

And the food was great, along with a botlte of wine they forgot to add :D.

I left a £10 tip which I hope he didn't' take offense at.

I cant recall the most expensive but I had a few expensive encounters during my stay at the Southampton Boat Show, weekend just gone.

£48 for a cooked breakfast for two.

Most expensive meal i cant remember, but the most rediculously priced meal was $58 for 2 sandwiches and some cokes at the Carnegie Deli in New York

They did look like this though

Serious mark up there for 2 quids worth of meat and a gherkin.

Me and Mrs Slug go out with some richer mates for a meal every month and they all like the fancy expensive restuarants. Bear in mind I live in Halifax which is north of Watford Gap so the prices probably seem cheap to you southern boys.
Personally, I like curry and Chinese and Thai, but we always seem to be going to a Mongolian, Carribean, Eritrean or "other **** I haven't heard of" restaurant that costs a million pounds per head.
The Jap restaurant in Manchester weighed in at about £50 a head BEFORE the many bottles of wine that were added to the bill. Ended up at a ton a head which is way too much for a meal before we went out to spend the same amount afterwards...

I'd have preferred a £10 KFC instead!

Erm, I don't know the total after the night but it must have been at Brassiere Roux at the Sofitel in London.

Even breakfast was £50 for one person! The food was absolutely perfect though :)

And the worrying thing is, it wasn't even that good that you can remember it!
You southern boys have too much spare cash!

Edit: I'll do you a perfect fried brekky for £30 max. Trust mail me if youre interested.

Most expensive i've picked up is about £3500 but that was due to the numbers (25 people).

Most expensive due to food was about £1800 for 4 people. It was about £300 food and the rest wine. Good wine is the killer :)

(all expensed by the way, personal meals are far lower!!)

More like don't want to remember how much money spent :p

Seriously, they didn't have cranberry juice when I asked for it for breakfast so they apologised like the world had ended and apparently ran out to buy some. Nice service! And you could ask for anything you like and they would make it, no questions asked. Just maybe had to wait if it was something special.

So if you can do that then we got a deal ;) £30 would be a bargain!

Blue Marlin in Ibiza.
Don't even want to go over how much it was.
Service was absolute ****e as well. We all agreed afterwards the waitresses were coked up and off their faces!
Never going back there!

I bought a meal at a Chinese resteraunt called Yi Ban, near London City Airport, for 9 people, but it was a present to a friend I see as brother, cost me over 500 quid, I could've chose a better places, I reckon, but he loves it there, and it was my treat.

I don't earn fortunes, far from it, but if you can't spend it, what is the point in earning it?

Food is over rated, you eat it, you poo it out... spend it on going someplace cool and eat there local food for 1/10 the price.

Or spend your money on me and my trip to the moon with Virgin when they offer it in 2058 or whatever :p

To be fair, it isn't just the food, even though that may sound ridiculous. Given a lot of people are taling about Michilen star'd restaurants. It's a once a year excuse to eat good food, that still leaves you hungry, and to be fair, still be impressed. Which I was.
