What's the most expensive meal you've bought?

I take it that you liken this thread to some kind of willy waving competition, rather than just a general here is a question provide an answer.

Thats the second time you've heard the willy waving thing today isnt it Fox, look at his sig too, he drives a Toyota

Most expensive meal i've bought was at China Town in Manchester, I dont remember the specifics and dont care too either :o

Some are so tight they have never spent more than 24 quid on a meal, others spend hundreds of quid despite almost being bankrupt

True. For what I actually got for my money in the OP I was robbed. I didn't even get an actual meal. But it was a special occasion and so totally worth it. I'm not rich (by a long stretch), either for those saying it's e-peen :D

spending money on good food is fine IMHO :p individually probably about £130 in Bentley's in London, hands down best food and best restaurant experience I've ever had. with me and the other half anywhere between £70 and £150 for the 2 of us. saying that I've also had some top curries and loads of beer & sherry for about £60 :D

Hey, I'm the tight one with my £24 steak being my record holder :D

Not heard of that one before, but it looks like it's worth a trip.

May I ask what you had? Did you go for the Tasting Menu?

It was excellent food, not something I would want to eat regularly (especially given how much it cost!) but certainly worth it for a special occasion.
We had the private dining menu, though ours was a little different to the one that's on the site now, and I seem to remember was a few pounds more expensive.

There were, I think, six courses in all.
A few amusé-bouches to begin, then a starter and a sorbet before the main.
For the main itself I had medallions of smoked venison that must have been cooked sous vide as it was perfectly pink the whole way through.
Then we had an apple jelly with celeriac foam just after the mains and finally the dessert.

Typing all that out has made me want to go back there now, definitely worth a visit and the restaurant itself is great.
We had a table of nine in a private room at the back; there seemed to be three waiters dedicated to our party and they did their job brilliantly too.

Wow! Now that is a sky bar!!
It was incredible...Bangkok looks fantastic from up there. There's nothing between you and the ground save for a foot-wide safety net presumably to attempt to catch dropped drinks!

The food was immense, beyond comparison - we had the chef's tasting menu which was 6 or 7 courses of pure amazement including caviar, wagyu, and all sorts of other totally top-quality food. They even had people to a) take you to the lift, b) press the button in the lift, and c) guide you from the lift to your table (yes 3 separate people before you sit down!)

Didn't try any of the $10,000 beluga caviar though :p (some silly price like that anyway!)

Without a doubt the best restaurant ever. Only problem, being outdoors...it rained. They hand out umbrellas so you have a slightly surreal experience of eating whilst holding an umbrella! We got moved inside (to the Dome) and given free champagne so we were kept happy though :D
