What's your "go to" take away order?

Small chicken shish, garlic mayo, salad but no tomatoes, extra pickled chillies. Only have takeaway maybe once a month, but that's probably my most common order.

I like chicken shish, but I find it can be a bit dry compared to Lamb
Lamb shish I always find a bit risky, one time it’s beautifully soft, tender and flavourful. The next time it’ll be tough as boot leather. Chicken is consistently good.

If I want lamb sometimes I have the same wrap above but lamb doner, or sometimes mixed doner.

I used to love getting Lemon Chicken (Chinese) in the UK, but I haven't found anywhere that does it nicely here :(

Our Chinese comfort food go to is something like:

1) Quart of Wonton soup
2) Sesame Chicken
3) General Tso Chicken
4) Rice
5) Shrimp Egg rolls.

A 'nice' thai meal would be Drunken duck noodles. soooo good.

I learned to make pizza, so I don't order them anymore. It would be Indian every time, but we don't have any here, so it's Chinese every time. We have quite a few here.

Like most take away's, but the one I have most often is Chinese. It's the cheapest and I get 2 meals out of it, Chicken fried rice, Singapore chow mein and chips.

Do like a pizza after a night out, so I can finish it off in the morning.

Pizza doesn't feel worth it to me, you can make really nice pizza with minimal effort but it's very hard to recreate the various Chinese options.

Same goes with burgers, most places around here as crappy kebab shops so it's not worth it. Now if there was an Archie's...

Not when you have Chinese family! :D

Making pizza dough and getting it right, especially sourdough does take some effort imo.

All British Chinese food is grim so that's out. I like Neopolitan pizza, but all the places round here only do cheese laden American monstrosities, so that's out too.

Thai is the only actual good quality food you can get takeaway round here, but it's pricey. My goto is a duck Penang curry and Lab Gai (fiercely hot minched chicken with lettuce cups). Lush.

Well that would certainly help! I might be biased as pizza isn't really my thing, but even the 'proper' Italian pizza doesn't seem that far about a higher end frozen one, is that sacrilege to say?

A little - but to be honest, I'm not that much of a food snob despite my French heritage! :D

Don't get me wrong, we still love a Chinese take away as my MIL doesn't do all the dishes I love - and frankly nor should she!

I do make my own dough and make homemade pizzas, they're flippin' amazing, but do take a good hour or two (proving the dough and so on) definitely worth it though especially if you have a pizza oven!
