Heating. I like to try and keep the house as cold as possible to save money on the heating bill. Might not sound like gambling but its a fine line between money saving and being murdered by the missus so I think there is definitely a risk involved.
Won £100 on Euromillions Hotpicks earlier this year and put my winnings on my energy

Wow that's awesome, congratulations dude, i guess you won't be needing to be 'tagged in' on the takeaway discount code thread now :p
Enjoy it :)

I had a takeaway pizza Sunday night and I went round to the shop to order and collect it as I wasn't happy with the inflated JE prices + service charge & delivery!

I'll always be a money saver :o

Don’t do Euromillions anymore as winning 20p less than cost of ticket is an insult. Do Lotto on must win draws. Won £99 last Saturday. Play Thunderball each draw. If I win £3 or £5, buy more lines with this.

Play scratchcards online and physical.

Most I have won on each:
. Lotto £133
. Euromillions £54.10
. Thunderball £100
. Physical scratchcard - £250
. Online scratchcard- £1000

Wish Euromillions reduce the jackpot and increase the prizes in the middle. Won £54.20 on 3 numbers and 2 stars. Paid out a customer’s winnings for the same tier - £29.80!

Bloody joke.
A work colleague of mine got 4 numbers and 2 stars and won £500. 1 number away from £128million at the time. He didnt sleep for 3 weeks. I was genuinely gutted for him.

I bought a set for life ticket online yesterday, inspired by this thread... won nothing!

I'm sure when Set for Life was first launched, there was no jackpot winner for a really long time (I have 8 weeks in my head but could be wrong). There was something about the odds being stacked against the jackpot compared to Lotto/Euromillions. After reading about that, I've never bothered with it. But then Lee comes along and smashes that preconception. :D

Yup, I've had no interest in it otherwise/only bought it for a bit of fun because of this thread. :)

I only really play the lottery when there are say triple or quadruple rollovers etc. then it can technically be a +EV bet (albeit with very, very high variance).

But but dowie, you'd have to live an impossibly long lifetime to be in with a reasonable chance of actually realising that EV

Ah maybe we will, maybe super AI in the next decade or two doesn't kill us all but cures aging etc.. ergo guy who carries on making +EV lottery bets eventually has it pay off! :)

Don't play the lottery but this past week I've been playing a lot more poker and blackjack than usual, casino and online. Up around £2k in the last week, hope I don't lose it all by the end of this week!

Also it’s not index linked. How much is £10k going to get you in 2050? Remember 30 years ago, £10,000 could bought you a 2 bed terraced property where I lived.
