When are you going fully electric?

Front end is nice and neat unlike a lot of EV's that seem to have ugly fronts now, even Tesla's are looking dated now. Are the drl's running all the way across the front or is that a chrome strip either side of the badge? Does it have a froot?

Welcome to the VW/Audi group of app pain. It's even better when the developers roll out their API updates overnight and it completely borks any smart charging you've got going.

Nissan Connect did that to me last night. Charger was set to charge to 80% as usual but because they took Nissan Connect down for a update the charger couldn't talk to the car and charged it to 100%.

No froot, and yes light bar all the way.

The badge lights up aswell, doesn’t look as chintzy as I thought it would. Front isn’t really needed as the boot is huge, and plenty of space under the boot floor aswell, mines got the HK audio and the glass roof, makes it a nice place to be.

It’s just so basic. The BMW app was great, It had things like the digital key, but more importantly all the journey data was included, which made doing expenses a bit easier, I’ve got to get organised again and will have to note my mileage down after every trip etc

i guess that depends on the BMW, my ipace has all that info, as well as average energy use on each journey and even links to streetview google maps for the trip.

but my BMW i3 offers nothing like that unfortunately.it tells me my state of charge, when services are due and my charging history (though that is hit and miss and sometimes does not record charging events ) it also tells me where my car is when stationary (if it has a signal, so gets lost in our work carpark and it does not do live updates when in use).

but there is no journey data... or at least not without paying an extra sub.

The JLR app is great for journey info and that’s a car that launched in 2018. In fact my 2016 F Pace had similar journey data so it is much older tech than that

Got two emails this morning - one introducing themselves as the contact for the EV charger install and the second with a link to book the install

The link (and follow up email) 404'd

Third time lucky takes me to the booking site, but ....

Will keep on refreshing the page though the day ...
@Goodie spammed the site again this morning and had dates as of next week, so EV charger is now booked in for a week on Friday (11th)

if i had 1 complaint about the JLR app, (or ipace in general really) is i cannot configure a percentage to hard stop the charge on. (of course its possible this is a user being dumb problem and it is there somewhere but if so its not obvious)

its a minor niggle as i can set it in my zappi, but when i go to my parents and completely dumb charge it, it would be nice to be able to stop it at a set point, or if i was at a public charge point for instance.

over all tho, whilst it didnt change much during its run (though the changes they did make are very nice) the ipace was really well thought out and designed when you consider the other cars out at the same time as it (only the Model S came close, but as a car the jaguar does more for me than the model S does (I considered both before buying the Jag).

They will be too rich for my blood (even after the initial 3 year cliff in all probability) but i am really interested to see the next generation of electric jaguars.

Anyone know how I lock the display screen on my zappi charger?

I dont want to lock the charging itself, just prevent anyone from changing any settings on the unit itself. I don't want to enter a code every time I need to charge.

Im looking at the instructions here but there's all sorts of different lock options. I just want to lock the display/buttons on the device.

I think the 'charge' option is the one I need but do I need to also use any of the other options as well?

Wife had fun time today she got locked inside her Kia EV6 , we had to call the AA as electrics had failed and doors would not open. Been back to Kia twice for recall over the 12v battery which only stared showing fault after the update , bit worrying though been trapped inside
that sounds like a pretty scary design flaw. surely the default positon with any failure should be to unlock all doors - and on top of that, unless a child lock is on, the inside handle should always over ride the lock.

(i have no idea if this is par for the course however with modern vehicles)

Yes any door - car / building should "fail to open" as in if it "fails" including a power cut it's default state is "open".

Other than certain specific scenarios (high security facilities mainly) this is the norm !

It’s one of the highest in use remote apps and that’s ignoring the fact a much smaller user base so per owner it’s super high. Over 4 million interactions a month.
