When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

£659.99

Thanks but Gibbo did say 'brand new'. Nothing brand new within £100 of that at the moment on here at least. I'm sure we'll get there, not sure about B grade to be fair, it would be nice to know exactly why it was B grade, its a bit of a lottery I understand. That said I still wouldn't go for it and will hold out longer cheers.

Still disgusting prices on eBay for ancient 2nd hand cards I see. I hope they all choke on it - I'm playing older games now and just don't care about a GPU upgrade anymore unless it's a 4000 series at old school prices.

I was lucky to get a 3080FE at MSRP a few months after release. Also got a 6700XT for a good price. I won’t be upgrading either unless prices are realistic.

Each to their own but when a 3rd tier GPU was near £1k it was a joke. And I’m referring to the 3080/6800XT here let alone the scalping prices some 3070/6800 GPUs were going for.

What prices are you wanting to see?

Have a look on ebay and you will see some 3080s going for £500-600 and 3090s going for £700.

Wait for the 40xx announcement/release and that's when you'll get much more being sold for those prices above or most likely less (assuming the supply isn't a complete **** show and we don't have a mining boom)

I wonder if some of the asking prices on ebay are high because some people over paid during the shortage and are trying to get most of that money back. You can currently get a 2060 6Gb for £212 brand new, probably reduced because they over produced them during the shortage. That is old school 1060 6Gb price and means you can skip the 4000 series and wait for the 5000 series. TBH its cheaper than the 2nd hand chain are selling their cards for, which might have been mined on. Personally I think its a great trade up for people on 900 series as you never know when your current card will fail and you get access to features like dlss even if you don't rate ray tracing. Plus at some point Nvidia will stop supporting the 900 series in new drivers

I can't see any brand new RTX 2060 for under £269

Well yeah - those are asking prices, it doesn't mean they are selling. I have had quite a few things on watch recently and it's interesting to see what isn't shifting. Maybe there's a bit of a Mexican standoff at the moment on eBay but I'm sure a tipping point will come.

To be honest, I'm just being stubborn and don't want to overpay out of principle. I'd like to go to 1440p really but until then, I'm doing OK on 1080p and the 970 will still run pretty much anything at that resolution. :)
