When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

We are regularly seeing them dip under $1k here in Australia now, which is about £585. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop another 10-15% before too long.
Market's probably different here I guess, and it's only 10% GST rather than 20% VAT.

The UK is already below that, we are at £541.66 exc VAT on a 3080 10G so cheaper than Australia. :)

gibbo its already happened asus 3080 500 quid new :D
LOL you mean from the 3rd party seller scammers and it's 1 card for £510, basically selling his used card or a brick.

You really are a drama queen sometimes Dg... also same seller listing many different prices and stock levels and read the feedback he's a scammer.

there was more cards they must have sold. no drama queen lol. just showing they are about. also they are covered. so no scam possible.

Yes I don't plan on spending weeks trying to recover my money from them, they are not as easy as they use to be to resolve things like these scams.

Sorry but if that is what you class as a 3080 at £500 your impossible to take seriously, its not even new and potentially does not exist.

£500 3080 10G is when places like OcUK, its competitors and other similar outlets are listing cards, showing in stock and shipping brand new un-used, un-repaired product it what is classed as product been available, also not just one card either, like I said its not happening, you really called it very wrong, prices are increasing further, not coming down.

Just gonna remind you, like I said (this was before I shared @Gibbo post about state of play)

GPU prices only going up now bro! Bottom is in.

this seems to make sense until you realize they got tons of 3 series cards not selling now. so by putting the prices up. how are they going to sell even better ? they wont. gonna have to cut prices or people wont buy either the 3 series or the 4 series.

People will be buying 30 series as the 40 is £1600+ and not until November will the gimped £999+ edition materialise which is the same as a 3080Ti anyway. Naturally the cheap stock listings are bought up first. I bet gibbo can confirm since the Leather jacket farce sales of 3080+ cards have improved considerably.

Loads of stores I saw stock of 30 series only on monday are now either all gone or on last few and they knocked the prices up too and still selling. This just proves people are not as stupid as Nvidia thinks we are and falling for a 4070 at a £1000 if not more when the aibs are released as there is no FE at his made up msrp.

Once the benchmarks are out people are going to have another shock and realise what nvidia has really done with the 40 series and scramble to buy a 30 series before they all vanish at sensible prices they have been.

It also shows how retailers had no idea too what 40 series was going to cost beause I bet you they would have knocked up the prices earlier and not panic and try to up them before they all sell out. Nvidia are geniuses don't forget that they manipulate the market and the customers.

Sadly its a win:win for nvidia. However the damage limitation is the mindshare is not as pristine as it was. Anyone who is a regular gamer that values their purchases will reflect on this and hopefully be less forgiving going forward.

Exactly it's a no win situation for customers and they just have to judge which of the two evils to pick from, 30 series known good performance for the price currently or gamble when benchmarks are out for the 40 series and realise the performance to £ sucks and 40 series is nothing more than a beefed up Ampere with DLSS 3.0 (Paid DLC that fakes frame rates with the added Soap Opera Effect).

Also I highly rate the AMD 6950xt for £800 reference model :- https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-02q-am.html

Ace card for the money if you don't want/need all the nvidia stuff and has 16GB VRAM so future proof too.

If I didn't need my cards for work and cuda I would have been all over them 6950xt's.

This is why if you are a genuine neutral, radeon might be a better alternative.

If your a die hard ecosystem must have DLSS and ray tracing well then your already in nvidia's pocket so that wont change. However if you don't really get a chubber on for RT and value efficiency and no paid DLC then it might be a better option and shove one to the huang in the nads.

i guess we will see in the coming weeks. :D

I'm sure we will....

But remember most of us live in reality and not :-

Did you see what I said before they announced the 40 series and the discussions I was having with some that didn't live in reality ? Also as you may then see these same people had a wake up call and realised to update what they have if they need to or if they were selling to upgrade to 40 series decided not to and remove their cards from sale.

Did you also read what I said what was going to happen to motherboard prices when Intel will drop z690 ? I said same even before AMD introduced the AM5 boards people laughed said no way, and here we are again in reality of prices have doubled or more.

It's a new world mate, sadly :(.

Seems AMD have officially dropped pricing now.

RX 6900XT at $699... seems pretty good value, and the $239 official RX 6600.

Hope this is different to the folk in the 30 series flagship thread that were frolicking and prancing about how the 3090 was a waste of money thinking a 4070 was going to be available for make believe prices..? Soon to be followed up by scrambling for Ti's

Feels to me either they are slow in reporting AMD's special deals they did last month or AMD is setting those prices as normal, we have had no one from AMD or their AIB come to us, pricing is still higher and those special deals are now all sold out, people should remember we had:

6600 @ £229
6700 @ £299
6700 XT @ £399
6800 @ £499
6800 XT @ £599
6900 XT @ £699
6950 XT @ £799 (still available)

As such our prices were below all the prices in that chart.

Working from a 1.11 rate, $949 / 1.11 x 1.20 = £1024.99 yet OcUK is at £799 whilst stock last.

6800 XT is $599 / 1.11 x 1.20 = £649
6900 XT is $699 / 1.11 x 1.20 = £749, again OcUK has stock cheaper than this at moment.

So again this is nothing new, the difference is now maybe AMD is doing this across the board and not just as a one off special as per last month, but with the even weaker pound we won't be bringing any stock in as it nullifies any savings to be honest, were not taking gambles and will await AMD's presentation for their 7000 series and we did better than these prices a month ago, the sales were not exactly amazing, just enough to clear what we had. :)

We also had Sapphire 6800 XT at £599 and 6900 XT at £699, all sold now.

over the many years on this planet it becomes very clear what is real and what isnt. once you understand how things are sold and marketed . you dont need to be a genius to see whats coming soon. price cuts. theyve been announced for weeks. they are coming. sales men are exactly that.
