When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

We had a power surge approaching a year ago. It was enough to blow appliances in 40 odd houses around here, and I was sat in the house literally hearing light bulbs explode, and electrical goods frying.

Once everything calmed down and got sorted, tried to turn the pc on and... Nothing. I was gutted as I'd only built the thing about a year ago.

Replaced the psu, hit the power button, and.... everything was absolutely fine. PSU went, but bore the brunt and saved the rest of the machine.
One reason I always buy a decent PSU. Protection, stability, efficiency and longevity. They pay for themselves eventually in the hassle they save.

I use a quality PSU and a surge protector in case I get a surge.
I had a surge protected extension too. Fat lot of good it did me as I plugged everything into that EXCEPT the PSU. Blithering idiot that I am.
Didn't have access forums when I started building so it took me a little longer to learn that lesson :)
But learnt nonetheless!

Normally par for the course however if regular 3070's, 80's and Ti's are retailing for high prices you would have thought even a used 3090 is still commanding about £800+.

look like scams , look at the none existing feedback on them

but yeah starting to see miners offloading cards now and below msrp but have to take account used and warranty ?

As said above, they are all scammers on there trying to pretend they are miners getting rid of their gpus and people seem to fall for it till they end up with a brick at the door and learn the hard way. It's just a new scam from pretending to be scalpers to now miners offloading their gpus and people fall for it because they are desperate or think they are getting a deal..

No one is selling a 3090 for £600 and never will in the next few years unless they are desperate for the money or it's faulty and they have no warranty to get it repaired and then you go buy the item face to face and check it works. Buying blind on ebay or any online site/forum means you will get scammed at unreal low prices, as the old saying" if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is ".

Scam. Many more on there with zero feedback and new accounts and some even selling empty boxes if you read the description once clicking the item. Also many with different user names and same pictures of the so called item they are selling that shows a box only.

Looking at the current retailer pricing, it is still some way off in terms of shifting products towards the end of their life cycle. There's stock everywhere, I think they'd have to drop 25% to get them moving again.

as i posted a couple of weeks back, the 3080 should be closer to £500 than its current price of £749 for the cheapest model. i get the feeling we wont be seeing that until the 4080 launches and there's plenty of stock for that, so who knows with so many of us on pascal cards waiting on a upgrade.
