When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

I'm a bit tempted by the new prices for either a 6700XT or a 3060Ti, but I think it's too late for me. My 1070Ti is adequate and it'll probably only be 3 months before the next gen is released and there's enough evidence to conclude that the 7000 series from AMD and the 4000 series from nvidia will be significantly better than the current cards. Paying ~£500 for a low midrange card a few months before significantly better cards come out that will probably have to be around the same price point doesn't seem like a good deal even though it's a much better deal than has been available for a while. Or maybe a 4050 will be on a par with a 3060Ti and a 7600 will be on a par with a 6700XT but either new card will be significantly cheaper. I think I'll wait and see.
3 months for the top end cards, probably 9-12 until you see mid-range. The 4050 level of cards are normally 18months after the first release.

Real dilemma now: New ASUS TUF 3080 12GB OC 3 years warranty or B-Grade 90 days warranty Gigabyte Aorus GeForce 3080 Ti MASTER 12GB and B-Grade 90 days warranty Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT Extreme Toxic Watercooled 16GB, all £899.
Good price on the B-Grade, but quite a chunk of money with such a short warranty. If it goes sour after 3 months, kiss goodbye £899.

Is B Grade like refurbished? Why are there so many?

Customer returns, more likely.
Can be simply change of mind, under 14 days days return or some odd coil whine or similar and the customer decided to return it.
Should be functional, but my main worry is the very short warranty.
Too many high end GPUs biting the dust early.

Prices coming down now for sure, although as I expected it's mostly the high end that is seeing the biggest falls, 3090s going for under a grand on ebay whereas the 3080 are typically still around MSRP. If i'd tried a bit harder I reckon I could've got a 3090 for under £900 this morning but I told myself £800+ is still a silly amount of money to be paying for a second hand GPU, it only looks good because the retail prices is so inflated.

B grade could be various things. Physical damage. Missing parts. The original packaging being incomplete. The item has been used, either by a customer or by OcUK. Essentially anything that means that the item can't be sold as brand new and in perfect condition. It could even be something that hasn't been used and is in perfect condition in complete original packaging but doesn't have a warranty for some reason. Old kit, for example.

As for the numbers...I think a fair bit of the B grade stuff stays there for quite some time (some of it is now marked with prices higher than the standard price because it's been on B grade long enough for the standard price to have dropped a lot) so it builds up. As well as that, OcUK shift a pretty large amount of stuff so even a very small proportion going into the B grade section will be quite a few items.

It's a gamble. B grade items are guaranteed to have core functionality for 90 days. That's it. Maybe it'll be perfect and work just fine for 10 years. Maybe it'll be battered and have bits missing. Maybe it'll stop working in 6 months. I've bought maybe half a dozen B grade items over the years. Only one was damaged and had significant bits missing and that was (and still is) functional. I'm still using it. Along with a B grade Z97 motherboard from a fair few years back that was in perfect condition in the original packaging. That's 8 generations of CPU ago now and it's still working perfectly. B grade is a gamble, but the odds are good.

I wouldn't gamble £900 on B grade though. That stake is too high for me.

Hi there

Yes we have had time to sort the last few months of b-grade and hence a lot of cards appearing, some good bargains to be had. :)
I grabbed me a radeon VII from B grade for my Mac pro 5.1, works perfectly and was a good price. some bargin's to be had for sure ;)

A pity that there is only a 90 days warranty with the B grade options, that they can't be registered for the manufacturers warranty.

That is the OcUK warranty period, anything beyond that is manufacturers discretion and not guaranteed.

Who said? They're only open boxed products.

...registering them may well be fine but no guarantees of them being honoured.

I suppose that the price reflects that potential risk.

The price absolutely reflects that risk.

If the items had full warranty then the prices would be much closer to the as new pricing, but due to the risk B-grade items are sold at a considerable loss and thus represent great value for money but of course there is the risk that the warranty is ONLY 90 days and there is no guarantee of any additional offered by the manufacturer.

Have the suppliers charged OCUK less for the new gpus recently, some tasty prices on your website!

Indeed there are. Looking at the 6800xt Saphirre Nitro. Was thinking 6700xt or possibly a 3070 but this just feels like too much of a bargain to pass up

Just bought a B Grade Gigabyte 6800 XT for £599 can't see that the card has ever been used, perfect condition, boosts to over 2500 MHz without breaking a sweat and absolutely no coil whine. Really happy as it's the card I wanted that I've got basically new for less than MSRP.
I was eyeing that up, then came back later and it had gone! 90 day warranty was putting me off, glad the card is all good. Have you tried to register it with Sapphire?

I picked up a 3060ti FE on Friday anyway which will be more than enough for me until at least the next gen launch, probably longer.
