When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Looking at the current retailer pricing, it is still some way off in terms of shifting products towards the end of their life cycle. There's stock everywhere, I think they'd have to drop 25% to get them moving again.
Its not an envious position though tbh, can a retailer having ordered a batch of GPUs at a certain price then sell them at cost or return/re-negotiate that price if the market shifts? Probably not I'd imagine they have to monitor stock very carefully and offset small loses against the greater gains.

This is why imho we are seeing a bit of a pause in the PR/leak/marketing/media and general BS machine on next gen atm. Nvidia and partners trying to find the optimum window for balancing profit & loss with a degree of nervousness about the 2nd market coming from one side and AMD from the other. Its going to be a tense summer for sure with I've no doubt drama to boot.

Yes I think you're right, just a matter of who blinks first. I think they'll have to eat some losses though. Bad timing for them though being summer for their biggest markets, other distractions make it easier for consumers to hold off.

surprising normally swept up by scalpers or gamers if they lucky, neither seem to be buying, maybe cost of living, already bought a gpu or maybe too near next gen
Probably cost of energy prices, i mean its more or less doubled unless you managed to jump on a good deal before the price hikes.

the problem is now the AIB manufacturers are looking to get every last penny out of the current gen, with the whole selling direct to miners by the pallet load and shortages and comedy pricing the general markets never been satisfied enough to lower the demand for this gen, so i can see it being dragged out past the launch of the 4000's if theres shortages of them.

Cards are sitting on shelves now. Demand appears to have fallen off.

compared to where it was yes, and prices have started to come down, BUUUUUUUUUUUT for cards that are being replaced in 3-4 months possibly, they will need to fall a fair bit more to be a reasonable investment in the long term. cheapest 3080 is now £749, so down from £799 in a week which is good but honestly £500 is what im waiting on for 3080 performance, and at most £650 on a 4000 equivalent card. im sure many will say im dreaming, but i just cant justify spending more.

I've been after 6800 xt and looking on fleabay some 2nd hand prices now edging down to £500 - 600. Some still asking silly prices even when new prices in £800 range plus far more for sale than few months ago. Not surprising 2nd hand prices taking time to drop as most GPUs been bought at inflated prices and sellers expect decent resale price. When item an is in demand the price shoots up very quickly but prices fall at much slower pace until a momentum starts as sellers realise not get the price they want but really want some money back before prices fall further - fingers crossed.

why is there a 3050ti listed on nvidia? next gen is nearly here cant imagine they release that now
Laptop gpu? Or Nvidia could be reserving it as a response when ARC launches.

Theres still no decent budget option for us calculated buyers, 6500 XT's small 4gb VRAM on it is a deal breaker as well as the pcie4 requirement to make the most out of it.A 6550 XT with 6gb or 8gb is a missed opportunity to fill in the gap between the 6500 XT & the overpriced RTX 3050.

maybe they just trying to get the last few miners, and theres still plenty mining, those especially with no energy cost or solar etc, so there is still some demand, though no where near what has been.

GPU section strangely, but no stock links, but been there a little while now, maybe is there to counter AMD if it needed too at the time

People keep saying that, but unless they do this using an even more cut-down Navi 23 (6600 / 6600 XT) there is no way they can release a 6550 XT that easily. For Navi24 the bus-width, the PCIe connectors, and the lack of media encode is fixed.

Since Navi23 is 237mm² while Navi24 is 107mm², the mistake AMD made was to not have designed an in-between chip. A Navi 23.5 at 170mm² would probably have been a far better received GPU than the Navi24 (at least for desktop, for laptops when paired with an APU with media encoders and PCIe 4.0 Navi24 would be quite good).

People will start of loading their cards nearer the 4000 release.

Don't think it'll be as bad as the 2080/2080ti selloff ahead of 3000 launch.

I for one, will not part with my 3090 until I have a 4090 installed and tested for a week or two in my rig. It's simply too much of a risk (for me) to be without a decent GPU for potentially a very long time.

There have been some b-grade 6800xts on ocuk for £650 ish and sometimes they’ll do a deal if you drop them a line
