Which 1080Ti

Yeah better safe than sorry lol

Cooler Master do a support with a riser which basically has your card as if you put your tower on its side, I'm probably going to get one of those when I get my 1080ti, they're a little more expensive but it gives a nicer view of the card if you've got a window

What case is that exactly ? Looked at their website quickly but they got way to many cases. :(

Reports on the Aorus are good. I would have bought one but I have a black and red build so obviously went for the msi gaming x.

This is my third gaming x card. I prefer a quiet pc also so this card suits my needs.

I'm in market for Ti myself, they're all pretty much the same

Performance and oc potential yes, noise no

FE edition and some of the cheaper aftermarket coolers throttle and/or are too loud. Check the reviews and make sure you get a 1080ti with a decent aftermarket cooler that doesn't throttle and doesn't sound like a jet engine at take off when you launch a game

Just wanted to write a little review on the Zotac Extreme Core i got, This card is a beast! the temps are fantastic, i can't get it above 69 degrees which for air cooling that's insane.

The performance is a big difference compared to the 980ti i had. The card is huge but in my Corsair 540 it fits perfect! Colours are really nice and very quiet can not even tell the fans are on!!

I would happily recommend this card to anyone and this someone coming from EVGA Hybrid 980ti.

The fan stays low and quiet at that temp too.

Yeah its crazy! I'll keep an eye on the clocks to see if i get the same issue you did. Had a good look online and don't see any other reports of it. Maybe you got an unlucky one, What did you do with it when it broke just RMA it?

I thought I'd decided on a Ti but now I'm stuck deciding, found an Auros X for £700 but there's also the likes of the Palit Super Jet for £669 and of course the Gigabyte black for £650 from OCUK which appears to be the cheapest. The Destiny 2 offer sweetens the deal somewhat more as I was going to buy it so it's essentially £40 off any card I get but I can't decide which one to get as they all have such subtle slight differences and I can't figure out whether those differences are worth the extra money :(

lol I was about to post something similar but I kinda went in the wrong direction. When you read online someone will tell you something, the reviews something else and it can also reverse hence it just end up more confusing than when i started. I originally planned I don't want to spend much over £600 then after some reviews, upped my budget to £700 and after some reviews up to £750 and some more reviews and threads later I upped it up to £800 and NOW I am considering the EVGA 1080TI king ping. Its an amazing card but at close to £999 I am finding it hard to justify the price and also for extra £150 I could just get the titan XP. So that is the story of how I ended up considering buying the titan XP lol

If the EVGA kingpin was £850 kind of range, I would have bought it straight away simply because black and gold colours just always gets me and also that its a performance monster. Also consider they are hard to get hold off.

Gamers Nexus has excellent reviews on 1080TI cards so have a look up there.

I might just go back to playing MAME and save myself £999 lol

Also wanted to mention what cards I considered and why. Personally I would rather pay more for a company with easy warranty and Uk distribution and repair center. I dont want to be posting cards to ASIA for repair. For this reason EVGA and GIGABYTE are my favourite company in this respect. But the gigabyte 1080TI black card is best to avoid unless you are really happy with stock performance. If i don't get the EVGA king pin edition ( i most probably wont because £999 is too much money for a GFX card) then its between the Gigabyte Auors extreme and EVGA FW3.

However if I can find a card close to the £600 mark then I might just take that over all these fancy versions.

Yeah pretty much like you apart from my budget is rigid, I have the money for Titan Xp but I don't think it's worth likewise I don't think it's worth paying any more than £750 for a Ti so that's my budget, £700 mark is more preferable the only problem is the choice.

Originally I'd decided on a Zotac AMP Ti because RGB, performance and 5 year warranty, but it's £30 more than what I can get for an Auros which also has RGB, performance and 4 year warranty (4 years is plenty to be honest) but then it gets me asking is the Auros worth £40 more than say a Palit Jet Stream which also has RGB, similar performance is only marginally louder than the Auros and runs 2degrees hotter BUT it only has 2 year warranty (3 is my sweet spot) and RMA is China.

It's really tough to make a decision and in regards to £600 mark I don't think that's going to happen, not with the current Destiny offer and @Gibbo saying that card prices went up due to Memory costs on the latest batches :(

I agree with you regarding warranty that's why I did not bother with MSI, 2 years for £700 card is not enough. Zotac 5 year warranty was good originally but apparently only 3 of the 5 are in EU and the rest is in ASIA, don't quote me though. The review I saw of the zotact AMP extreme was not great to be honest even though it has the biggest heat sink and is one of the biggest cards there is and the one with most potential they added some rubber inserts that interferes with thermal transfers. See the review on Gamers Nexus to see more details, so I left that out. You can mod the card for better performance but.

Also agree that its not worth paying £1000 for graphics card tbh, I really dont want to pay more than £700 myself but could stretch to £750 if something special came up and with VOLTA so close now these cards will be worth not much in 6 months time.

The evga FTW3 is a great card but apparently not much better than the Evega black SC or TI ICX.

No, it is one of the best regardless. Fastest, quietest and best performance (which is why gibbo chose it for their initial bundle promotion). A good bit ahead of the aorus in my experience. Ultimately though we are only talking about noise and temperature, performance is very few fps between them (unless you are really bothered about this).

Bring on the 2080 Ti :D
