Yup, I said right away at E3 that I wouldn't be surprised to see a price drop in the near future. MS are not stupid (despite some of the mistakes they've made), and they know that Joe Consumer will likely just buy whichever console is cheaper, irrespective of features and what actually might be better for him. If MS don't bring the price down by at least £30 (and preferably £50), they're handing some sales over to Sony, and they won't want that. It's just how feasible it is for them to drop the price, and how big a hit they'll take.
 
The rumour is they are now in talks with suppliers to bring the cost down now, I just hope they dont find a way of "making it cheaper" but skimping on something, I want a 100% stable lifetime working ( within reason) console from day one, I dont want 360 failures for the sake of £50. In the long run that would cost me a lot more money.

Also, do we have dimensions for the Kinect unit?....I was wall mounting a new TV and assuming im going to have to leave a suitable gap under it.

I don't think they'll reduce the price by doing anything to the hardware, I think it'll simply be a price reduction with MS taking the hit in their pockets. It might be worth it long term for them, simply as more console sales means more game sales.

No dimensions for Kinect yet either from what I've seen. Gamescom is in a few weeks, and MS are holding a conference on the 20th August, so more may be revealed then.
 
Hopefully no red ring of death crap to deal with this time round, I'd imagine they've learnt their lesson on how to properly cool a console though.
 
Three weeks then for some new concrete information (hopefully!). I hate all this drip-fed info and speculation and denials. And we've got three more months of that yet.

Actually I don't hate it, I love it. But I hate it aswell :p

Better than the likes of Apple with their new phones, literally release everything two weeks before the launch lol, so there's loads of hype and everyone buys one while caught up in it. Marketing genius.

Apple does not have a competitor as big/savvy as they are when it comes to marketing.

Imagine if Sony announced the PS4 (specs and all) and Microsoft stayed silent for the next 6-12 months - Microsoft would get battered by the press/internet.

Well Samsung outsold them this year but I do see what you're getting at.
 
Both if I have the money/a good financial state to be able to purchase/buy them. Although, friends may get either and I will be able to test them from my friend's use. :)

Although, I want to be able to test out the features and have them under my control in my hands instead of seeing them advertised on TV/in videos.

Games wise, well I would like to be able to test and play games such as GTA V on it and much more.

If you think, you already have the games on XBOX 360 & PS3 (they will still release new games up until the console gets very obsolete). It is still alive and breeding games concerning it is the 'last' generation of gaming.

XBOX One/PS4, if you think to yourself for a second you will be paying £400+ for extra features and enhancements really. If you look at it from my view (like me of course).

I am not trolling, I am just stating a PURE fact. Trolling is abusing my view.

First of all, good luck trying to play GTA V on a PS4 or Xbox One. It's not coming out on next gen consoles.

Secondly, I think the point you're trying to make is that there is no reason to buy a next gen console to play games, as the current gen consoles also play games. We're effectively paying just for new features that the current consoles don't have. If that's your thinking, I assume you're having great fun still playing on your Mega Drive/SNES. After all, they play games too, just like the current gen consoles do ;)

Haha, I agree with this and nice use of humour. :p xD :)

I remember the SNES and Mega Drive - although I no longer have or play these. I referred to the 'current last' generation consoles (game consoles).

GTA 5 will be released on the next gen (XBOX One and PS4) eventually. I have read up and acknowledged what you're saying. Although, they're in the phase of planning such a thing. :)
