I'll probably pick one or both up in August 2014 in the US...region free being the clincher along with the massive price difference...will just need to avoid customs ;)

Ooh, that's a thought for the PS4. I'm in Florida next summer for 3 weeks, I could easily pick up a PS4 then and save some money. I'll see if I can afford it at the time I think.

i think microsoft has a sinister plan for xbox one with many untold features to be unleashed on gaming population. i doubt they would pass on opportunity to make lots of money from usage statistics of kinetic. overall it sounds like advertising hub with microsoft doing whatever they wish. the terms and conditions are frighting alone. the sony ps4 looks to me the most proper console

Nothing like making wide assumptions based on no facts. Oooh, sinister.

It's a good thought indeed mate! Think it works out at something like £274 (last time I worked it out) at launch over there so not too bad a price.

That's a nice saving, but at the cost of losing your warranty entirely, I'm not sure it's worth it, especially for launch hardware which isn't necessarily the most reliable anyway.

This, I'd rather just pay the extra over here and have peace of mind if anything were to go wrong.

Sony for example I know won't support imported console warranties but as far as I'm aware both Microsoft and Nintendo don't have the same issues with their support. It's a total risk reward strategy and considering I'll be buying them in Vegas it goes along with the holiday theme

No deal breaker by all means but i read the other day the Xbox One has a 5min capture card limitation vs the PS4's 15minute limitation. I was always under the impression the Xbox's wasnt capped. 5minutes is extremely pointless due to most games like FIFA or COD being over 10minutes.

I vaguely remember it's a constant 5 minutes always recorded by default but you can set it to record more in advance for individual sessions (I could be wrong though, it's a vague recollection at best)

Thats how I understood it...it ALWAYS recorded the previous 5 mins, so I guess if you started recording it also has captured a bit of time before that.

Yes, although I vaguely remember you could manually tell it to record the next 15 minutes as well if you know you're doing something you want recorded. I could be wrong though.

Well I managed to secure a decent deal on both consoles. ps4 for £296 and the Xbox one for £386 so I'm now in the buy both gang! Xbox one is just for the exclusives however.

The order process went as follows for me:

Ordered Xbox one first
Later that day also ordered PS4
Few days later after E3 concluded I cancelled Xbox order
Yesterday I re-ordered Xbox
Now I'm considering cancelling PS4 order till a later date.

The exclusives for the Xbox far out do the PS4 for me, Driveclub wont be as good as Forza, DR3 looks awesome, and maybe others such as Ryse will come along too, Killzone has never appealed to me either, the only thing the PS4 has in the bag for me is MGS but I don’t think we'll see this upon launch.

So it comes down to this, do I want a more powerful console with one game, or do I want the less powerful console with several games.

Theres a few sources on the net that say the Xbox can only record 5minutes and thats that.
