Pretty much my basic reasoning too, I do feel I know far more about what the Sony first parties are up to so kinda basing my decision on what was on this gen, so more the same please, should keep me busy til right to the start of the next-next gen...PS4. Always preferred the exclusives from Sony, they have some excellent studios.
So it seems for now that Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty won't be coming to the Xbox One or 360, and DayZ creator Dean Hall has similar views when it comes to his plans for the standalone version of his popular mod.
"Yeah, we talked to both of them," he revealed. "But, as I'm sure you're aware, Sony lets you self-publish and they don't make you pay for updates. Microsoft requires you to have a publisher. They have no digital distribution strategy and they require you to pay $10,000, or whatever it is, for updates.
if thats true, $10k to fire a patch out is disturbing as hell.
having a mooch about looking at indie devs and came across this, really does show how messed up ms is.

The only way I can describe how Microsoft have turned in the last couple of weeks is "Corporate". Only thinking about money, money and more money.
I really hope Sony have their **** together, because they could easily win this generations "console war".

I think that MS counted on the PS4 being £499 and not being able to play used games. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are holding meetings about backing down on the used games policy. Not that will bother me, I'm getting a PS4![]()
It has surprised me the number of very casual FIFA/COD type gamers at work that have instantly mentioned the used game restriction whenever a console conversation has started.
I don't seem them backing down, it's clear that its design for digital distribution, hence the rules, just like steam, iTunes etc you can't sell them on.
The physical media is only there for legacy for people to adjust to the new way, by the end of life for this gen I would be surprised if there's still boxed content in large qauntity, back up for those with slow Internet.

Is there ever a winner? I mean no one thinks the Wii is better than the 360 or PS3 but it sold more. The winners are the gamers I guess..
