Totally agree and have said as much, there's actually a fair bit of info out there now though, but not in a public presented way.

the info is still all 2nd hand and contradictory really have to wonder who's head will be stuck on a pike come the end of the financial year, im betting matricks, maybe he can go live with jay allard at the retreat for ex ms employee's.

Sick of developers whinging about second hand games, If I buy something it's mine I have the right to sell it if they don't like it then get another job.

Why should we feel for them they are in a well paid job with good benefits.

Or they should stop releasing any old crap and expect it to always sell well. If a game is good and is advertised well it will sell well. They also need to stop taking such high budgets and then needing to sell like 6 million to break even. Look at games like metro that have a small budget but it's a good game and doesn't have to sell a lot to make a profit. Proof a big budget doesn't always make for a better game.

I've had both on pre-order since they became available on Amazon. I would have got the PS4 anyway, but my decision to also get an Xbone was driven mainly by the much-hated TV demo.

I think the kinect control and multitasking for TV/media/skype/games etc on Xbone actually looks really cool- ive tried to set up similar effects on my HTPC and its nowhere close to what they can do. Plus Titanfall and Ryse look like decent exclusives.

I want to preorder the PS4 but I want a Knack or Watch Dog Bundle but I haven't seen anyone doing a bundle with any of those games.

No one will know what bundles they are doing, when I worked for Game on the 360 launch I think it was about 4 - 5 before we knew what bundles we were gonna be able to do.

It might change this time around, but we might not know for months yet, pre order the console, you'll always be able to change it at a later date.

Buying both. Most interested in the direction Microsoft are taking as it's at least trying to change something and put money back in the pockets of publishers. The game sharing seems really interesting too.

I've pre-ordered both anyway.

Playstation 4 definitely the safer option, would have liked to see a few more risks. Tried and tested formula, but that just ensures that it's going to be a humdinger of a console.

Actually if they read what they are doing it is far from that, it's actually extremely well thought out, it's a shame you have to piece it together from several statements and wasn't covered at the media events.

I bet the poll would be different if Ms actually explained themselfs clearly.

Please explain?

From what I can understand it all sounds really good providing you've got a decent internet connection. I think MS are trying to roll out the digital age too early.

If ms actually had said everything in a clear manner at the two events, I think the polls would be very different. The gains you get from digital far out weight the two minor downsides.

from what iv seen its one guy who's moaning about it and thats cliffyB the over rated map maker who's behind gears of war. his view is they need more money because games cost so much to make and market, funny how he wont suggest a cut in marketing but rather tighter drm.

Please explain?

ms have made it sound far from good since the big reveal before e3, its been one contradiction after another, and then not forget if you wont want to game off line you can always buy a 360 like don mattrick say's.

as for pushing the digital age id still say its more about controlling content rather than going for a disc less platform, as the xbone does come with a bluray drive, but even then they are going to drm you to hell and back. the only thing i can get from the ms info is they want control of who plays the games and limit what you do with them. hence the push to a digital platform.

ture some of the stuff looks nice, BUT a lot of it wont work outside of the states, yes they have a deal with sky but like everything else you'l have to fork out a chunk of money for a sky subscription, and dont forget the xbone wont act as a dvr (yes i know you can record games, but not tv) its just a pass through box that can change channel and pull up info from the internet.

They've already said all licenses are digital and physical media is no more than a place holder, yet you still think its not about going digital, ok.
How are they limiting what you do with it? You have far more flexibility with the system. But as its a digital license you can't transfer the license yourself, unlike other platforms at least they've enabled a system to transfer licenses, what has Sony done for digital purchases?

sony have done nothing as of yet, but they have also said (in regards to first part games at least) theres no limits as to what you can do with the physical discs. the thing is what the publishers do and how silly they get with drm and limitations, although a few have already said they dont like what ms are doing as it will limit sales.

as for not thinking its going digital, id say its 50/50, yes they are pushing the digital sales of media so they can do a steam and bag impulse sales, but they will also doing it to control what happens with resales, as well as making sure when there's specials on there not too special as what was asked on that angry joe video where major nelson started to sling the muck at steam when he was asked if ms would do sales as good as steam do. so im guessing they wont be, i know im sound cynical as hell but ms are there to make money and going digital makes them more money per unit, how that will work out units sold i dont know but going off all the polls floating around its going to hurt them id say.

I wish we had data for how Steam sales have affected the PC market. I'd be very curious to see how they have affected the launch sales of titles.
