Which size monitor do people use?

Triple 2560x1440 isn't 12K. Triple 3840x2160 isn't even 12K.

eah I know, it was just easier to use 4k screens to make the point than go hunting resolution references for the in between monitors. But still What sort of hardware are you looking to buy if you even take these resolution you mentioned like 11520x6480 What will you need to enjoy decent framerates and settings at that end of the spectrum, assuming one is into gaming. Its i think the major factor in deciding if you think you might want triples one day. I had the dilemma myself recently and was thinking of getting the rog swift. But ild never be happy with a single screen, but running 3 of them would take insane amounts of money to power them.

I have my center screen wall mounted, as the desk fits behind, Those telly mounts fit fine though obviously you cant bring the screen forward, but you could adjust if you want with spacers and longer screws, you can adjust up down and side to side with tilt. My side monitors fit on the desk with stands. If you want to bring forward easy then go for an arm, but that arm and bracket might reduce how far you can put the monitor back i guess depending on how it sits.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is that triple UHD (3840x2160) isn't "12K".

"12K" would be the equivalent of 9 4K monitors, not 3, and would be 12,288x6480.

Triple UHD is 11,520x2160. Triple 4K is 12288x2160. This is what I meant before. You've tripled the resolution in both directions, when you only triple it in one direction for triple displays.

That aside, I don't intend to play many, or newer games over triple monitors when I finally get them.

How the hell do people use 32 inch monitors on a desk, i sit over 1.5m from my 32 inch TV and even that feels a bit close for my eyes.

Quite easily, you soon get used to the bigger size and a 32" 1440p monitor is a considerably better DPI than a 32" 1080p TV.

I sit roughly 2 foot away from my 32" and it really helps with game immersion. Don't knock it until you've tried it! :p

This 32" VA 1440P after several 27" 1440p failed ips glow units. I also have a another racing based gaming rig in mancave and I run a 42" LG (low lag) HDTV @1080p and whilst it's not ideal for browsing and general PC use its perfectly acceptable once used too it and essential to get the racing feeling I crave (can't afford a nuematic racing sim)

34" Ultrawide... Not going back to 16:9 for a long time, if ever.

Same. I feel I could go a bit bigger now I've got used to the 34" screen. Maybe 2" larger in height then whatever it would be width to keep the aspect ratio. Don't need a higher res though as it's plenty high enough now.

I used to on 27 inch 1440p and even at the extreme edge of my 100cm desk i struggled with it must have funny eyes.

20" 16:10 (1680x1050) for the last 9 years on my trusty Dell 2007WFP's.

If I were buying new though I would go minimum 24". My desk is only 600mm deep so I sit reasonably close (1.5-2 foot distance).

In the last year I've had:

27" 1080p
23" 1080p
34" 1440p ultrawide

The 27" was bought as a temporary fix while I was low on funds - found it was too big for the resolution, so down-sized to the 23", much better.

Bought the 34" about a month ago, absolutely love it, doubt I'll be changing it for a good few years now.

I wouldn't recommend larger than 24" at 1080p unless you have rubbish eyes, are viewing from far away, or (enjoy the look of pixels :p)

Edit: mostly used for gaming, along with some software development.

What graphics card are you planning to get? There's no point spending a huge amount on a 1440p+ screen if you're going to be trying to run it on a low spec GPU :)
