Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Lovely example and very tastefully modded. Do you have any more pics to share?

Thanks! Tried to keep it tasteful but you get normalised to the looks and then keep on pushing it further...

I've realised I've got a bit of an arse and crap filter fetish with the car and don't have many of the front!

 I know exactly what you mean. What about some window tints for you?

Got myself a 63 plate Fiesta ST-2 with all the ST-3 options except climate control and also came with mountune mtune 215 kit on it. Came with full service, MOT and new pads and discs all round along with a full wheel refurb, paint touch up and valet!

It's an absolute blast to drive and definitely quicker than I assumed it would be. I am very happy with it :D.

So it’s looking like I was right with regarding the price of the new ST. It’s being displayed at the Autosport International show at the NEC this weekend.

£23k ish. Far too much in my opinion.

Yep it's way to expensive. The mk7 was so successful because it was amazing value, you could get one as low as about 16k and it was a quick car for that money.

The stock performance is pretty much the same and it only has a tiny 3 cylinder engine (so unlikely to be as tunable due to heat limitations), so seems like less for more. Doesn't look as good either.

Ford have shot themselves in the foot with the new Fiesta imo. It looks crap and the base spec model is now nearly 2k more expensive than previous models which will lose customers and now the ST will cost 23k  that is laughable! It’s got a smaller less modifiable engine that is only 0.2 seconds quicker to 60 which in real world is nothing and considering you can pick up the previous gen ST with the Mountune 215 upgrade from as little as 8.5k now I just can’t see it selling anywhere near what the mk7 did as that was a real bargain when new.

I would happily recommend it to anyone who wants a great car and doesn't need a lot of space.

If the new one starts at £23,000 as stated above I can actually see these cars going up in value over the next few months.

To be fair my ST3 sticker price was nearly 21k back in 2014. Did I pay that? No...I paid 16k. Interested in what the new one will be like though and will definitely take one out. Just not sure how I feel about the 3 pot...

I personally think the amount of cylinders loses its importance when you drive a car that is as quick if not quicker. I came from a 3.0ltr 6 cylinder BMW before the ST and have no regrets. The better fuel efficiency means it makes sense

The engine could be great yes, but the current one doesn't exactly have poor fuel efficiency and the cost of a new car with the emissions of the new ST is actually a little higher than the old one. The modability and the noise of it are in question too so it'll be interesting to see how it does in that way.

But the problem with small, high powered engines is heat. These small turbo engines overheat quite quickly if you hammer it. An even smaller 3cyl will be even worse for it.

MPG isn't an issue on the 1.6 either. It can top 50mpg on a cruise.

I’m confused, are you both saying you don’t want better fuel efficiency? Also about the heat comment, I can’t see it being a problem, Ford would obviously release an engine fit for purpose

I would rather have a bigger, better sounding and more modifiable engine than a strangled 3 cylinder that sounds crap. That’s the whole point of a hot hatch to have character even if it means losing 5-10 miles in mpgzzz if you were that bothered about mpg then you wouldn’t bother buying such a car
