Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Been looking at an induction kit, this the right one to get? I take it everyone has bought theirs directly from the k&n website?

That's the right one.

I got mine in a group buy for about £70 quid and it came with the full kit and 2 cold feed pipes.

Check FFST, might be a good deal going off on there.

Fitted my new bulbs yesterday which I mentioned earlier on. Visibility is much improved and they look a damn lot better from the outside without being dazzling to other drivers. One thing I really noticed was just how little blue there is which was a surprise considering the name of the bulbs. I suppose this could be a bad thing for some but I really like it, unless you are pretty much staring full on into the light they are nearly completely white. Just need to order the fog light bulbs which should be next week :)

Just a question, not a sale post.

Roughly what should i be looking to get for my car?

Black 57 plate fiesta st, Currently on 31,1** miles (Increasing by about 7 miles per day)
Interior is imaculate.... and standard
Tiny mark on rear bumper, although i believe i could remove this with enough effort.
Engine totally standard
Full service history (Serviced thursday)
MOT, untill Feb
Team dynamic, monza R 17" alloys..... Which i believe is the only bad point (To some people)

Some many different prices online that i haven't got a clue what i should be looking to get for it, or what i should put it online at (Knowing people will try knock it down)

What's the average consensus mpg wise at around 75mph?

As said by other people 70 mph indicated is around 3450rpm. I travel 34 miles everyday on the A50 - A500 (so a mix of 50/70mph and start-stop traffic) and get 35mpg average which is with me taking it to the redline at least once so it's not bad at all. If you have any more questions just ask.

I drove 120miles home thurs night at 55-70mph with no revs over 4k and returned 42mpg. 70-80 would return around 32mpg. AC takes 3-5mpg off that so never have it on if you can help it. Those figures are with Mountune 185 so you could get better mpg, although the Mountune maps run at perfect AFR where as the standard runs super rich all the time. I think 42mpg is the absolute peak you will get in real world.

Cheers mate, they look good - I like those and I don't wanna go down the HID route with new MOT rules etc so they look ideal :)

What sidelights are you using?

As a complete mechanical noob can anyone tell me if there's a way to soften my suspension a tiny bit? The cars on Eibach lowering springs and it's a real bone shaker on bumps but I don't want to raise it... Is this possible?

I really like the Fiesta ST. Was very tempted to buy one. But in the reviews people say how loud it is on the motorway due to the high revs in 5th gear.

Is there not some form of 6 speed box that near enough bolts on?

Not with out adjustable coilovers.

Even standard springs are just as bad. Feel like I have been hit by a train we some of the pot holes around here.

Sadly not...whilst there are six speed boxes used in other Fords, they do not mate up to the engine in a straightforward fashion.

The Focus ST170s getrag gearbox 6 speed doesn't fit (ST170 has a zetec based engine so won't just mate to a Duratec as in the Fiesta), the Mk1 Focus RS gearbox doesnt fit for similar reasons - a shame given it has a Quiafe diff as standard. The ST220 and Focus ST/RS have 6 speed boxes...but again the problem is they just don't fit.

You can change the gearbox to a stronger MTX75 item (used in Mondeo and Focus with the Duratec petrol engine) which is still a five speed gearbox, but depending on which revision of this gearbox you use has longer gearing, which would help keep the revs down a bit on the motorway.

Alas its not a straight swap, you need custom gearbox mounts amongst other fettling. People only tend to change to this box if they have a forced induction engine and need something stronger than the cars standard IB5 transmission which tends to **** itself when trying to deal with with more than 200lb ft of torque!
