Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Took the car out for the first time in two weeks for a blast tonight! Jesus Crist! Hahaha forgot how powerfull they really are :D :D :D Window down listening to my decatted Miltek and the woooshhh of the airbox, am I sad? LOL

May sound like a massive boy racer here, but I am not promise and treat the road with respect and play by the laws. But seems a bit of a few folk wanted a play! Some TT coupe one with the dual tail pipes, hmmmm must be 4WD loss but they are nothing special! Not as quick as my 182 and a silly idiot in a Corsa VXR! Nice looking cars but not a patch on my nicly modded 182 ;)

Muchas fun tonight. Cannot wait till the summer!! I need to sort the breaks out, get some brembo or the like on there, anybody reccomend some? Have about £600 for it all. So want some serious stopping power something which lets my car down.

They weren't trying, innit. Sorry, standard Cliosport response.

Myself and BennyC fitted Brembo discs, new lines and DS2500 pads to his 182 last summer for around the £300 mark. Made a massive difference, that would be my choice.

Innit!! :D I don't really go on that site to be fair, seem a funny bunch of people if you not in the 'cliosport' circle!

I want new 4 pot calipers too! :) May aswell do it right well I mean get the whole lot upgraded.

Unless RSClio's 182 is significantly more powerful than standard, the VXR wasn't trying (or driven by a numpty)

Unless we have three ****ed 182s over here :D

A VXR in standard form is on par with a standard 182. Mine is quite a bit quicker than a standard 182 therefor quicker than a VXR.

Simples.

I'd have to disagree. In my experience, off the line, it remains pretty close initially with the VXR starting to pull away as you get closer to three figures. On a rolling start, the VXR has it by a reasonably significant margin.

The trouble with the VXR is that first gear is far too short (probably owed to the 6 speed box), it isn't really much use once it hits overboost making standing starts difficult. I suspect the Clio has a longer first gear and a far more linear and predictable power curve.

Power wise the corsa and 182 are pretty much identical (although the corsa feels faster), so theres no reason why i modded 182 wouldn't pull away. Corsa has got better brakes though. One thing i was disappointed with when i got in the 182 after the R27 was the brakes. The 4 pots in the r27 are immense.

They both are FWD,have similar power and basically the same 0-60 time.

There can't be that much in it...

I just broke it down and explained exactly why despite their similar power:weight ratios and FWD setup, they are not identical in straight line performance. There is so much more to how fast a car is than power to weight and which wheels are driven.

Torque and gearing play huge role. Both of which are the Corsa's downfall off the line, and it's saving grace once rolling.

Yes mine was quicker, kept on pulling and pulling and well you get the picture :D Hence my previous post the breaks are the only weakness on the 182! They dont have break fade but are lacking in stopping power by quite a bit! I want some 4 pots :D I wonder if the ones off the 200 or 197 will fit?

Mike mate have you seen the fast laps link I posted? It concludes the 182 is the quicker car stat wise. But yes the driver plays a part too! :)

I was looking into a 197/200 5 stud hub conversion... but the price was epic so i ran away :D
