Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Has anyone here tried lowering the front seats on the Clio? Looking on the net you can remove some anti vibration washers which are 15mm thick and replace them with 3mm thick washer (M8 inner hole and 30-40mm outer). I sat in a 182 the other day and that was one of the issues I had with the car, and I wouldn't want to replace the front seats.

Yes, I've done this to my drivers seat. I replaced them with 2 slim washers so about 3mm in total. You can do it without any washers, but the runners then foul the carpets and the seat wont slide. The 3mm allows the seat to still move.

It makes a noticeable difference, but its still not massive. Its the difference between the seat being massively to high, to being slightly lower than massively to high.

For a 15 minute job with a long socket and some washers its worth doing, but the high seat problem is in all Clio's, even the new ones. If its a major problem then you will have to look at low frames and new seats.

Just taken a pic a of the 182... nothing special photo wise, paintwork is beading nicely, so maybe won't need claying etc for a little while. Going to give it all a clean this weekend anyway and will take some pictures with a better camera!

Tire wise it has Goodyear F1's on the front and Toyo proxes T1R's on the back. Not great in the wet with TC turned off but with it on its much more manageable.

Anthracite wheels, nice.

I've got 4 new T1-R's on my 172, but I haven't has a chance to try them out yet. They are cheap tastic though.

Is that a 3/4 size plate on the front?

Mini front plate too?

Looks tidy though :)

Ta bud :)

It is indeed... can't decide whether I like it or not though :S

I have the original full size plates too which is good.

Regarding T1-Rs... are they rated well for these cars? The front F1's don't have a huge amount of tread left so I will expect to be replacing these within a few k miles. Would probably get T1Rs to match the back I think. ta :)

With 3/4 plates, it will be weather the local plod decide they like it or not that will make the decision for you. :)

T1R's get a lot of support on CS. There are a lot of better tyres, but not for the same money. I am planning on trackdaying my Clio, so went for a balance of cost and performance should I go through them quickly.

Keep the 3/4 size plates, they look SO much better in my opinion, I'm so glad I got mine.

When I got pulled over by the police on Monday they didn't mention my plates at all.

Ah, I see! I'll keep them on for now then

Good stuff... I'll probably end up with a set of those on the front too then. Thanks!

That's good to know, hopefully it doesn't get mentioned

Couldn't even tell you where it was to find out tbh :P... will have a gander on cliosport!

EDIT: found its location, now when I finish work, I'll be checking ta ;)

Mine is broke too!! has to be the thinest bit of meatal possible holding it in place! I put a bit of foam down the back to stop it moving and scratching etc. :)

Must be a sign of some serious abuse!! :D Can't work out why it would snap, must be the engine mounts which are made of cheese causing the whole thing to move and the like. I imagines its along those lines.

How you finding the car? You near Leeds at all? :)
