Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Played with some 3M carbon today, great stuff, how the hell do you get the steering wheel insert out???

Looks good! Not sure about the wheel insert, if it's like most other things in the car I'd imagine it just pops out :)

I took mine to Elite in Rainham at the weekend to get the alignment done.

Not sure why one of the things is still red, they said that one isn't adjustable, and it might be out because it had knocked a kerb or something in the past. But apparently it's nothing to worry about.

The car does feel better, it goes straight for a start :)

I have noticed that my front tyres are dangerously low on tread though, sooner than expected, so I need to get a couple of new tyres on there soon. Once the ARB is fitted next weekend, I need to stop spending on it, I've done everything I wanted to do and more, so now I just need to drive it and enjoy it.

Nothing different, but some photos for the hell of it.

Actually, I lied, I do want to get the bullets painted. I'm going to go with Arctic Blue bullets (to match the car, obviously), with silver writing :)

On a separate topic, I went to a CS.net meet the other day, and I fell in love with this 197:

It was AWESOME!

Steering wheel insert just pops out. Get a flat head screwdriver under the edge on the side and push it out. Might be a bit stiff but does come out.

Got my 172 back today. Proper missed it. My GF keeps telling me to stop driving like a loon, I keep telling her I'm just bedding my new brake pads in :)

Gave the car an epic clean this afternoon, and am very impressed with the turtle wax ice polish. Didn't have time to do the inside of the car though annoyingly, and it was too dark to take a photo, but its shineeeeeeey. the wax has left a lovely wet look shine. Aching now though, that stuff is a bitch to buff off :(

Dude, some of that carbon sticker landed on your foot ;)

Vans = awesome driving shoes :p

I always see pictures of your car and get really jealous. Then I remember I have one parked on my drive in exactly the same colour :p I'm putting my splitter on tomorrow! Love the look of that small sticker too :)

I need to get mine re-gassed because it's still steaming up so as soon as I get paid I'm getting that done.

Really wish I had the spare cash to put some Turinis on it.

Random question guys but at what milage would you say it's time to sell these on? I'm guessing it's around the 100k mark as after that it's probably likely to pick up a major engine fault just due to overuse. (I'm not thinking of selling my car at all :p)

Sell it when you think it's time for a change/something better/something more practical. If looked after properly then it should last for a while.

i have a 172 cup i got for track days and im starting to fall in love with it :)
spending lots of money on it. very cheap to upgrade i must say

god bless k tec lol

anyway ive noticed on my car the front spoiler is missing ?

is it missing or was it not on all models ?

Going for my second visit to cadwell park on friday in as many weeks and cant wait Great little cars............

Guys i live in SURREY and need to get the alignment done on my trophy, has anyone got any decent suggestions ? Dont want to just go to a quickfit / halfords autocentre ;-)

Cheers

I gave the car a biiig clean this weekend too. The BG paint is much nicer now, so smooth too!

Hosed down.
Cleaned using 2BM.
Dried with microfibre towel.
Clayed with Meguiars clay kit. (Sooo much crap came out the paintwork, such a satisfying part of cleaning :))
Polished with SRP.
Sealed with EGP.

Tried out the bilberry wheel cleaner too. Bilberry = awesome stuff. I wasn't leaving it long enough to soak at first, but when I got the ratio right and length of time it is great stuff. Cleaned the tyres and used AG tyre shine stuff. Going to get some meguiars endurance gel to try out I think. AG stuff isn't lasting too long.

Picked up my Skoda Fabia front splitter too. So going to get that fitted sometime soon :).

Unfortunately by the time I finished it was dark, buffing off the EGP in the dark isn't the easiest thing to do, that's for sure lol!

Finish work early today though, so might grab a few then! :)
