Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Thanks, so in terms of headunit, I just need to stick with something mainstream. I wouldn't care, but I really want A2DP support for Spotify.

Is there an aux in? If not, this car doesn't have the changer fitted - are there cables that'll do it via the changer input?

Everyone in this thread needs to stop wondering if its worth getting a wheel done and just do it. It absolutely 100% is. The steering wheel is your number 1 interface with the car. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I had mine re-trimmed - its something i will now do with every car I ever buy.

The wheels cleaned up nicely, although there is still some tar on there. I'll give them a claying/tardis/bilberry again soon.

SS what the hell are bullets!? I notice in the pics the car has the 2.0 part are painted blue!

My manifold is starting to blow quite bad again, it went away for a bit when i had the decat fitted but its back and getting quite bad. Really need to get this sorted before the dyno run on the 19th.

Agree, was so happy I had my 172 wheel done, made the world of difference.

Mine was only a phase 1 so no split thumb grips to deal with, but having the melted wheel recovered in nice new leather was lovely :)
 
Will probably look to get my wheel done shortly as well in that case, why stop spending now? :p

Black 172/182s looks so mean from the front, I love them! Saw an awesome one at the wheekend with white Turinis on, looked awesome!
 
This thread is tempting me back into Clio Sport ownership. I've already had a 172 and 172 Cup, but ScarySquirrel's 182 looks absolutely sensational and now the itch is back.

Must... resist!

How do you compare the DC2 to the 182?

Still as much fun? Still as raw?
 
Having a few brief runs in a 98 dc2, i would say its a lot harder and raw than the 182. Pretty sure it was standard and the suspension was rock solid, coupled with the buckets it just feels a lot harder. Never driven a dc2 though, only a passenger.
 
So guys...another problem. My Display isn't lighting up at night when I have all my lights on but it comes on when I turn them off :S

What gives! Also I've set myself a budget of £120 to get a stereo for the car. I know this isn't much but maybe I can pick one up second hand from ebay?

Do you need an aftermarket stereo? I've bought a few cheap ones in the past and the sound quality has got worse rather than improve. I'd only get one if you really need any of the additional features such as mp3 or usb, and if you must, get a cheap sony and avoid alpine, as in my experience, although they do amazing top end gear, they can't do the cheap stuff as well as sony do.

Thanks dude :)... might consider that in the future! Splitter looks good too btw. I've picked mine up, just need to get round to fitting it.

No where near as raw a the DC2. Both cars are great to drive, equally as quick as each other. But the DC2 has much more character which makes it more fun to drive. The lack of sound insulation makes a lot of difference. Going as quick as the 182, just the whole package makes it feel a lot racier and fun.

The 182 feels quite soft in comparison, but is much nicer to jump in to just for short journeys/times when you just need to pop to the shops for example, and not to go for a good blast down country roads. 182 has a similar cam lift from 5k rpm which is good fun though. Not as aggressive at B18 vtec thats for sure, but still good.

I will more than likely get another DC2 or a DC5 (if I can get the courage up to spend that much on a car) some day.

Splitter looks good dude, they make such a difference to the look of the front end of the car. Took me about an hour and a half to get mine on as well!

Bullets are the little silver bits on the side which say '2.0 16v' on them. Mine were looking a little worse for wear anyway, so I've sent them off to be sprayed Arctic Blue (to match the car) with Silver lettering. Hopefully it'll look good :)

I'll post some pics when I get them back later this week.

Oh, and the adjustable ARB should be coming tomorrow, yay! Won't get a chance to fit it until the weekend though.

Anyone got advice for me with regards to the display light not lighting up when I turn my lights on? It comes on when they are off though :\ ??

Tyres = £336 fitted
TAX = £130
Tracking = £25
Pollen Filter = £20
Exhaust (which needs welding) = £30
Stereo = £60 +
Gassing = £40
Insurance = £1389
Car = £3,300

£5339 already!

I dread to think what mine is at now. I certainly could have bought an S2K and insured it, which is what I originally wanted!
