Who here owns a Renaultsport?

DarkShadow - high 30's is easily obtainable when driving sensibly. I have averaged 40mpg over a whole tank once, but it took a lot of effort and was boring.

At the moment I am averaging 33mpg and my car is only used at weekends for some fun, so not driven economically at all :P

SS - you need to put a disclaimer on your posts with photos on. "Warning, photos of awesome Clio may make you want to spend money!"

Personally, I have given up caring about the external appearance of mine and will be saving my money for track days and tyres :)

This man speaks the truth.

Can you post up some pics of how your miltek sits SS. One of mine seems to sit lower than the other, need to find some way of getting up touching the bumper.

Is there a single 1*2 Clio aftermarket exhaust that hangs properly out of the box?

Everyone with one seems to have to do something to straighten it up!

@ ScarySquirrel

i am just loveing your photography skills on your own car, if you dont know how to use Photoshop, how are you getting pictures to look like that? i have a clio sport too, and i nice slr camera, but i havent a clue how to get photos like that, i hope to one day!
your car looks fabulous

I'd have thought those photos are almost certainly photoshopped, especially that vignette?

A lot of the awesomeness of those photos comes from the shallow depth of field, I presume with something like a 50mm lens that has a huge aperture.

Thanks very much :)

I do know how to use Photoshop, although all of the above photos were edited in Lightroom. I usually use Lightroom for processing lots of stuff at once, for example when I cover a wedding or an event (a side venture of mine) I do it all in Lightroom. I tend to use Photoshop only if I'm working on a series of 1-10 photos which I want to spend more time on. These Clio shots were just a 'quick' job :)

Here you go, it's not perfect, the left side is ever so slightly lower than the right. But it's the best I think I'll ever get it.

Largely thanks to:

I hadnt thought of that! Thats genius!

I wonder if you could do it in situ? Somehow seal up either side of the mounth and then fill it with silicone from the top and let it set, then when you remove the mould be left with a solid block of silicone inside the mount.

It's common in the Honda circles to stiffen up engine mounts.

But considering the fragility of exhausts on 182s, I can't say I'd recommend it for the exhaust mount unless you've got some flexi in the system somewhere.

hmm

i'd like to know what equipment he used, i doubt my lens are good enough :(

I did similar but off the car. Basically I got new mounts and before fitting them filled in the gaps with PU Adhesive by covering one side of the rubber in cling film then pumping it in from the top. Seems to be holding up, not heard any new rattles.

I think the fragility issue is just on stock exhausts isn't it? Can't be many of them left on the road.

I'm on stock with 136k miles, and she's good as gold apart from one of the rear boxes knocking on the boot floor since fitting my decat, but I think this is a result of me being thick and trying to undo the lambda on the car.

For those photos I used a Canon 5D Mark 2, Canon 35L, and a Canon 135L.

Give me a Canon 400D and kit lens and I'll produce similar results (although they'd be a fair bit more noise).

Those photos were nothing special, most of the work was done in post processing.

The blow on my Miltek. Been on for 6 months and done less than 3000 miles.

Ktec seem to be quite good, just had to e-mail some pictures for them to contact Miltek to send me a replacement direct.

If it happens again I'll be after an exchange.

Out of interest what kind of MPG figures are you guys getting?

Usually average around 35/38mpg if I'm driving above 75 on the motorway. Sitting at 70 I'll see just over 40mpg. On the way to JMS at the weekend I saw 43mpg :) through town & in traffic is usually 25-30mpg.

You can get a decent return if you drive at sensible speeds with the cruise on. Though it's very easy to speed up to 80+ on the motorway without realising it when all it really does is get you there 2 or 3 minutes faster and kills your MPG.

Likewise if you're heavy footed after just resetting the trip you'll see sub 20 :p

That is absolutely shocking, must have been a really low quality batch of steel for that to happen.
