Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Anybody know where MikeHiow is? Was in discussions with him in regards to something. He's been on here today about an hour ago it seems. If you're reading this and are no longer interested it's not a problem I'd rather you just let me know :)

OT: Have a machine polisher coming next week as me and Maccy will be giving my black gold swirl bus some lovin' over easter.

Pistonheads... advert was up for 2 weeks or so with no calls then at the end of last week they started coming through.

I can't say I miss the car. Took it for a drive with the new owner and it didn't make me think I was doing the wrong thing. The GT4 should be a great replacement!

Its a nice looking motor you have their mate. Theres a guy with a blue one nearby yeah? Yours looks tidier :)

It is very tidy, barely any marks what at all. I love it, give us a shout I'll take you a drive if your still thinking about buying one!

I never noticed untill I bought it, but I have noticed 3 blue, 3 silver and 2 black ones since I bought it! DOH!

Has anyone ever considered changing their steering wheel?

I would love a smaller one!

Yes. Loads of people on CS have done it, mainly because the standard one is stupidly big (yet Renault still put the same size wheel on, even after 5 generations of 'sport' Clio!).

I debated it for ages and ages but decided I liked my nose and front teeth so opted to replace it with a refurbished standard wheel. Its brilliant. However, it hasn't solved the size issue.

Its a toss up between a smaller more comfortable wheel, or having an airbag. Personal preference.

Thanks for the info, the large steering wheel really irritates me tbh :(

What's the ballpark figure for a new 1 (fitted)

Would this be a good one to order?

You will need the boss to allow you to fit an aftermaket wheel, which are about £80, and then its whatever wheel you want to fit ontop of that for however much you want to spend (£100 - £300).

With a 182 though you will lose the cruise control buttons, so will need to either live without, or do some wiring to get some wheel mounted buttons to work (check CS, loads of threads).

Whaaaat, another £80 :(

Modding cars is so expensive lol

Wheels - £600
Exhaust - £420
Steering Wheel - £220
Springs -£150

Add on to that my new set of tyres , insurance and the actual price of the car lol...

:/

Not sure what to do first. Exhaust, springs or wheel.

It's very easy to get caught up with modding when others are doing it and everyone is encouraging you, but you don't need to do any of that stuff. If it's too expensive then just don't do it.

This.

Somethings just aren't worth doing. Do you really need a smaller wheel? it really isn't 'like driving a bus' as it's been described. I can quite comfortably rest my arm on the doorcard and steer.

Not to mention you're devaluing the car and making it less desirable when it comes to sell it as it's seen as someone elses project. Unless you fancy returning it all to stock which is a right PITA.

And if you crash none of it, normally, is covered.

If you've got money coming out your backside then do it, if you don't there are more sensible things to spend money on or save it for.
