Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Has anyone removed the vibration mount things from under the drivers seat? I want to try it out to see if it'll make me a little more comfortable in the car. I'm pretty tall so I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it and noticed a difference? :)

Just had to upload a hugh res pic of this one :)

Eibach Prolines fitted to car and what a difference over the old springs. I got the original springs back after the Prolines were fitted. The front drivers side was broken as already known, but on looking at the front passenger side spring it wasn't far away from being broken either. The rear springs don't look that great either.

If you have a 182 and you are still on the original springs I suggest that you get them checked.

Skeeter has.

Yep. Real easy job to do. I jacked mine up on axle stands just to make getting to the bolts nearer the centre of the car easier. I put back in a couple of washers (MikeHiow did the same, but with some bits of rubber) to raise the runners slightly. If you don't put something back in when you take the vibration mounts out the runners bind on the carpet and the seat wont slide any more. I used 2 washers on each bolt, so probubly about 3mm (for reference, the vibration mounts are about 15mm). It has made a difference. Its not a massive difference, but its definately noticable. But seen as it took me 10 minutes and £1 of washers its worth doing it. I haven't done the passenger seat and now when I sit in that (or in the drivers seat of my mates Clio) I feel sat much higher. I'm 6'4", so quite tall too :).

I found lowering my seat made a huge difference, and I did it the first day I got the car. You forget about it until you sit in the passenger seat, and you just feel all wrong and high :) (I must do the passenger seat!).

That's interesting you mention about the runners binding on the carpet, mine is ever so slightly stiff, so I guess the rubber wasn't quite large enough - I think I'll chuck some washers in when I do the passenger side.

As for modifying and bus sized wheels, bar some braided brake lines, decat and a 3/4 numberplate, the steering wheels is the only big thing I've really considered modifying - it need not be expensive - someone sold a good condition OMP steering wheel and boss on the OC the other day for £60! I'm gutted I missed it.

It doesn't devalue the car - it takes 5 minutes to revert back to standard at the time of sale.

Uh, what?

MikeHiow, seriously, WTF? You spent 2 years looking for a car, finally found one, and are now selling it again having thrown money at it since you bought it?

"Looking for something more sophisticated"? Leather, Cruise, Climate, Auto Light, Auto wipers etc not good enough for you?

You can't make it up can you? Argues with us for months about how it's only a toy and he only wants something he can give a good thrashing too, finally gets it, then oh, wait, suddenly its for sale for some almost certainly made up to save face reason.

Fitting my ARB today :)

Split CV gator means no test driving it :(

I dunno whats worse, having the ARB but not fitted, or having it fitted but not being able to drive it.

Fitting a bright yellow strut brace to my mates 182 too :)
