Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Managed to get the vibration mounts out from under the drivers seat today, stuck a few washers in for good measure, which I'm glad I did as the seat only just slides back and forth now :p it's well worth doing though as I can see a little better out of the front of the car.

Did a brake fluid change too, that hasn't made any difference though (so far anyway, need to do more testing) ;)

Rather impressed 60 miles over back roads, and sitting around 60. Saw me a nice 45mpg.

Surely not combined 45mpg with back road driving AND cruising at 60, unless you reset the trip and only got the 45 for 60 which is still a push for mine :P

I get around 35 for combined driving of A roads between 40-60 and then back B roads at around 60, motorway driving at just below 80 also gives about 35...

Maybe I need a new lamda sensor!

It was 60 miles on a A road, which is pretty twisty. But sat at 60 for the majority of it. Reset the trip when I got out of traffic.

Very impressed, but I did have someone in the car so there was no hoonage. Still I was damn impressed. I never bought it in the thought the MPGzzzz would be any good, but it just shows if your willing not too hoon it, then it can still be done.

I've been messing with my car today, decided to finally clean and re-oil my K&N air filter which I have been meaning to do for weeks now, I'm waiting for it to dry before I put fresh oil on though :o I want to go and drive!!

While the airbox was pretty much out of the car I decided to clean my throttle body, which turned out to be a LOT dirtier than it looked when it was bolted to the car. I took it off (4 bolts and a connector so very easy) and gave it a good spray of WD40 and wiped all the crud off, so now it's nice and shiny again  people on CS seem to report better throttle response and a better start up. Worth checking at least just so you know it's shiny :p

Well after yesterdays efforts cleaning and re-oiling my air filter along with the throttle body cleaning session it seems to have made quite a bit of difference. From the hour drive I went on it seems to have improved the mid range revs, it seems like it pulls harder than it did previously from around 3000rpm up to 4200rpm. The car seemed to start up quicker too and from cold seemed to have improved the overall drivability of the car and stopped the lungey gear changes, quite impressed seeing as it didn't cost me anything!!

Certainly worth giving the throttle body a good clean, especially since it doesn't take long to do! (40 mins max)

You do have to take the air box to bits too (PITA) :p mine was pretty mucky so took a while to get a nice shiny finish (would have probably helped using a carb cleaner rather than WD40)

Just did mine, 15 minute job and didn't have to touch my air box :p

Used WD40 too. Went for a quick spin, bit hard to say if I noticed any difference but can't have done any harm.

The pipe that's connecting to the air feed is the oil breather right? I had a bit of residue inside the pipe which I wiped up and I also had what looks to be some sat on the inside of the engine (plenum)?engine block? Bit of a n00b so should I clean that out next time or just leave it be?

Well I had to dismantle mine to clean my K&N filter :p yeah I think it's the oil breather, I gave it a quick wipe too. I didn't bother cleaning the engine part (the bit behind the throttle body) as I didn't want to put any tissue down there just in case something terrible happened so left it as it was and to be fair, mine didn't look very dirty anyway. I did wipe around the edge of the engine part though behind where the throttle body sits just for the hell of it...

Yeah, I basically did the same. I think it might have been improved a little. Though hard to tell as it's not often that I give it a booting, nor is it 25 degrees (I'm sure humidity and air temperature all comes in to it)
