Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Stock exhaust needs to go!

I've got myself something for the summer and dry days...

Clicky Clicky

Have to gain my license which I have been training for and have the first part of the test next weekend.

Totally different kettle of fish :D It's missing 2 wheels and some seats!

WANT!

Doing my DAS end of July, very jealous would love that for my first bike :-)

Thanks :) Even the very early ZX6R's you can pick up for less than £2k and they're still go like the clappers.

I had to make do with a passenger ride but it's unlike anything I've ever experienced. Bucket loads of acceleration and it's effortless. Very easy to end up in trouble with both the road & the law!

My girlfriends uncle is giving me his 400 bandit (import I think). After that I want to try a CBR 600. Enjoy and take it easy, I imagine it's ruddy quick!

Can't argue if it's free! Yeah just a bit. On a ER-5 tomorrow which is round 50bhp. Mine is nearer to 100/110bhp  500bhp + per tonne

You keeping the clio as well? I reckon it won't give you the same buzz as before ;-)

Yeah. I'm moving to the next county in October and was thinking about getting rid of the Clio and getting something more economical or running something as well a diesel of some sort to commute. Though it worked out to not be much point. Then I thought about what sort of economy a bike can give a 125cc would be brilliant or even a 250cc giving well over 100mpg. That idea soon turned in to a sports bike for the summer and weekend blasts

The 182 will stay for now as it's practical, has been reliable so far and doesn't break the bank to run and is also good fun in it's own right :) just not quite 3.2 seconds to 60 fun :p

I had to give my 182 up when my little boy was born. The girlfriend needs the car in the week now so I'm getting a bike mainly to commute. Although I've promised that it won't be 'a fast one' ;-)

Don't pop her on the back then! Pop it in the Biker's Cafe when you've got it for us to dribble over.

Just got mine fixed after it being off the road for 2 weeks, 2 new rear wheel bearings (as well as discs and pads) and engine mounts. The car feels completely different! Just waiting for the powerflex dogbone mount now as it didn't arrive in time :(

Did you go with the uprated ones?

Not at the moment, still unsure about what to do with the car. I will hopefully be treating myself to ITB's or the RS2 setup in October time and the original mounts were quite cheap and will do for the moment. :)

The original plan was to supercharge it but my sensible side has kicked in again and the money will be going into a new house once this one has sold.

Pointless really, you want a faster car - buy one imo.

I do fancy uprating the bushes though, heard it makes such a massive difference.

I've heard this too, although if you use the car on the road a lot the stiffer ride and more vibration can become tiring. They would be fine for me, as my car hardly moves, but I can't really afford them.

Don't really think it would bother me, I use my car very little only for blasts in if am honest.

It does a 300mile round trip once every few months, but I could live with it as I can take B roads down most of it.

Hey guys,

So in three weeks time I will be ordering my exhaust. I really don't understand the whole de-cat principle.

Am I right in saying, the CC is removed (for fuel emissions) so therefore there is more power. Do you just buy the exhaust as a 'de-cat' ? Does it cost more to fit? Why is it more expensive than a standard one? Would you recommend it?

Also, I know I would lose the warranty but this seems like a great deal?

Or £379 New?

It would be great if I was in the same situation, at the moment I am doing 120+ miles a day until I can move closer to the new office. With its current setup it is already v stiff.

As for buying a new car, there isn't anything I could buy for what I can sell my car at now + £1600 that would (imo) give me a big smile like this car can and keep the same running costs. :)

A decat replaces the catalytic converter. It is just a straight through pipe. It means your car won't pass its MOT. You can buy the decat separately. If I had a 182, I would be buying a yozza exhaust with a decat. It frees up a little bit more power (2-4bhp) but sounds quite good :D.

Eurgh, phoned bank about increasing overdraft to help things with buying a car I saw.
Have to phone back tomoroe when the overdraft department poeple are in, or something like that.
But that's if seller would take £1600cash in hand, a drop of £200 (even then would love to offer a cheaky £1500cash), and parents have money for insurance. Money they've been saving for me, but last time I asked them about it they had to delve into it (fair enough, no complaints from me)
