Where is the best place to get some poly bushes? How much should I expect GDI to charge to fit them during a service?

Which do you rate as the better of the two?

I've had a 172 and a 172 Cup to date. The gulf between the two was much bigger than I expected, but I'm desperate to get either a 182 (Trophy maybe) or a Megane 225.

Well I had a FF 197 first which I t raded in for the 225. The megane is a great car for motorways and overtaking;), however the Trophy is simply the nuts. Handles like a dream and now its been tweaked, goes like a rocket.

There's too big a gap between the Trophy and 225 to select one or the other, so its really down to what sort of driving you do and what experience you want to get out of it. Both great cars tho.
 
Agreed, a carbon front spliter and lowered suspension with a nice subtle exhaust and they look a lot more aggressive. Im either going to get a 172 CUP or sending my mk1 to GDI for head work and cams

How did you do the insurance for the alarm / Imobiliser part ?

Im trying to get some quotes at the moment, and I don't know what they come with, i assume its got a factory fitted alarm and immobiliser, is it a thatchem 1?

To add a slight bit of complication, proper UK spec cars will have a CAT1 upgrade cobra alarm on them the parallel imports will only have the standard CAT2 transponder immobisiler. No led by the gearstick/no ultrasonics on the pillars, no alarm.

You can lower the trophy with some mark fish motorsport springs but its only around 10 - 15 mm

One of the joys of the trophy is the fact it handles like nothing else but will go anywhere and you dont have to worry about speedbumps etc. Its all very well having a low car (my VX220 Turbo) Is so low most speedbumps are a problem and alltho it looks cool its a real PITA

The trophy is awesome i want anootheerrr.
 
I think I've decided on the Trophy as my next car, since most of my driving is on B-roads. The 172 Cup was fantastic, I've no idea to this day what compelled me to sell it.

What are the main tuning options for the Trophy? I've never looked into modifications to the Clio Sports before, but it seems the done thing nowadays from reading this thread. Also, the ride isn't too harsh, is it? The missus will only complain if it's worse than the Cup. Do you get air conditioning or is it stripped for weight saving like in the Cup?
 
that fastchip package looks ideal with the live data feeds and error code management but only 6bhp gain and 8lbft more torque? spose its not that bad as a complete package for 140 smackers but still. im very skeptical about the 5mpg gain, i could maybe understand if the torque was vastly improved and shifted down but with those figures there is no way he would get 5mpg gain on a NA engine like that surely?
