Who here owns a Renaultsport?

When i did mine, it was mainly out of bordom, and to see how easy it all was to take apart. Now i know how long it takes, i'll take it off again and do a proper job. Black inlets+fuel rail+anthracite engine cover i think :)

Its posts like this which remind how I'm really not that extravagant on car costs

How did you manage that?!

To be fair though, that total does include 7k miles at 27mpg, 1k insurance (which i pay monthly, so technically haven't spent that yet) and also the £300 deprecation is included as well.

If you turn the car over it will show you some consumption stuff. I think the first or second press shows you how many litres is left in the tank too which is useful. Turning mine over straight away in this mode with out switching the ignition back off and on again can be a bit touch and go. I usually turn the ignition off and then wait 5-10 seconds before turning it back on again as I don't think you can get it out of that mode anyway without switching the engine off.

The dials dance too :D

Depends.

On the road, no, you will hardly notice. On a track, they are meant to make a massive difference.

They aren't expensive though.

Yeah for normal driving you won't notice a difference. standard lines expand meaning less pressure in the caliper , hence why braided lines are better. Ideally i would do all 3 parts of the brakes though, pads, discs, lines. One is only as good as the other.

Mike, you have an injection fault... apparently

Probably from a long time ago, i reset the computer and it hasn't come back...will see how long it lasts.

Talk to me about RStuners (i know, i know!). I don't want to get a proper remap done until i can afford to get the head work done, so im considering getting an rstuner to hopefully sort out my ****ty idle and flatspots with the decat.

1) Benefits of rstuner mk1 vs mk2?
2) 2nd hand price is around £100?
3) If i buy a licence, does this allow me to add and remove maps at my pleasure for the one time fee?
4) License is around £50 right? What does this include, one map?
5) If i understand correctly, depending on the ECU, i might have to do a software update before applying the map?

I think all is correct.

But let me know if you do, first dibs when you sell it on :p

Really? if thats true I wont be fitting the braided lines sitting in my toolbox... can anyone confirm?

Doubtful. Otherwise there isn't a great deal of point in producing after market braided. If the stock aren't as good as aftermarket then there's a reason to still buy aftermarket braided.

I have them on mine.
