Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Reaaally? Think a local renault were doing cambelt changes here for just 99quid!
I just got a full service (astra 1.8 coupe) which had cambelt, auxbelt and full service including screenwash etc for 340quid..

Cant be that bad on the clio?

Yes they are! Barely any space to do anything and special locking tools are required for the 172/182 engines

Have you looked inside a 172/182 engine bay?

I have managed to get a carbon fibre engine cover and matched inlets from someone on CS (he is having ITBs fitted in April). Cannot wait to get them fitted/remapped :D Now I just need to save for Angelworks or GDI's supercharger kit :(

Why haven't any of you got a Tesco Warranty on your car??!

They can do 0% interest free on monthly payments and they cover wear and tear and stops any big bills that may happen along the way. A must for any French hothatch?

My 02 flamer ticked over to 30k last week :( I bought it a flame red engine cover + oil cap sticker, some new engine cover bolts - shiney!

nuts - you'll love the KTec stealth, sounds awesome on mine :)

I'd go with GDI personally a friend has had a lot of trouble with Angelworks

how much you paying for that? and you say wear and tear is covered? so all tyres, brakes etc?

The V6 styling is a bit over the top imo... it wouldn't suit a 172/182. I think the standard 182 with cup packs looks classic... especially when it's lowered a bit (but not too much). Great, great cars... and I will miss mine like crazy.

*wipes tear from eye*

why you selling?

Agreed, that smells like main dealer prices. Get yourself to a decent specialist, k-tec, rentech, yozzasport etc etc and get some quotes. Should be a fair whack cheaper than that.

No Renault specialists in my neck of the woods. I was probably over exaggerating saying i'll not get much change from £1K, i think the belt change service is usually around £600ish, and i'll have whatever the MOT costs on top of that.

I've got a dealer warranty on mine still, it expires soon. My mates with Tesco for his Warranty and when I whacked in my details online it came to £259 for the Standard package and ~£350 for the Platinum one.

£25 a month for piece of mind is worth it.

I can't see them covering brakes and tyres as they would be classed as consumables, not wear and tear. Check the T+C's on tescofinance.com.

GDI fitted my 2nd gearbox which lasted 8 weeks, the garage that fitted gearbox 3 reckon they left a lot of bolts out! Also the 3 dowel pins that hold the gearbox in place were missing. Just working out my options.

Or buy the bits off one of them and get another reputable garage/garage you trust to fit them :)

Or DIY it.

Mine goes to Carlton Garage in Exmouth (ClarkieV6 off CS), I know Matteh and others on here also use them. Great service, friendly, and cheaper then any of the other specialists. And you get to ogle the V6 with Nitrous and the 5 Turbo 2 he races :)

Did a few mods after Christmas.

Scorpion RS192 Exhaust
Fastchip RSTuner
ITG Panel Filter

I could'nt believe the difference these made. The car feels transformed, it just pulls and pulls from 3,500rpm until the limiter and 2nd gear is now immense.

The exhaust is slightly louder that standard when idle, and not much louder when driving, but sounds very 'respectable' when giving it some.

Please excuse the dirtyness, i drove to Derby (Scorpion to have exhaust fitted) and took the scenic route home via Snakes Pass.

Good to hear. Did you get the standard (non-custom) remap?

Was the original filter dirty at all?

I just installed the standard map from Fastchips website for my engine. Took a while for the ECU to adjust the settings as my cruise control did not work for about 500miles, but now works fine.

The orignal filter was spotless as i only had it replaced under the 36k service 8 months ago. The ITG panel makes more of a "whooooshing" noise when accelerating, but apart from that i doubt it does anything else over a standard filter. However it was only £45 and doesnt need replacing again.

The exhaust is amazing. I was contemplating a Yozza system, but they sound too loud for me. After a lot of research i went for the RS192, and i am very please. Scorpion are very professional and helped me out when it was abit "wonky" after my attempt at fitting.

The RSTuner is deffo worth the money, it was like driving a new car all over again. My MPG has suffered slightly by about 1-2mpg, but i've put that down to enjoying the car a lot more ;).

Price wise:

RSTuner - £200
Exhaust - £350
ITG Panel - £45

Also went for 4x Goodyear Eagle F1 GD3's after having them on my 205. Would have got the Michelins but the F1's were about £40 a corner cheaper due to the offer at the time.

Edit : Also fitted some new Bake pads. Went for the standard Bendix from ECP for approx £50 all round. If anyone is in doubt, these pads are VERY good. I was going to purchase some uprated ones, but as i've spent a lot already just stayed standard. Unless your tracking a lot, just use the standard Bendix.
