Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I've got them on the rears at the moment, and still PE2s on the front. Finding that they can slip a little too easily or take a split second to catch up with the front. Slightly disappointed with them tbh.

I've got them all round at the moment and not had any problems. Grip in dry is good, in wet it's ok, people bang on about the sidewalls being soft. I'm no expert, but even I can kind of understand why people say it.

I need two new front tyres as well, I think I'll go for Rainsport 2s as they seem to be rated on CS.

EDIT: Scrap that, the place round the corner only has V12s in and I need them fitted for Monday so I might just get them again.

EDIT: Found another place that has them, got for Rainsport 2s.

When I bought my second (current) 182 it had budgets all round which was like driving on baking trays.

Have had V12's on now for about 4-5000 miles and would say, from memory, they're as good as the PE2's on my last 182 (Which Maccy now owns).

I've plenty of confidence in them in both wet & dry. This might change when I eventually get around to putting my braided lines, discs & DS2500's on (as I had on the last 182) as I'll be able to carry more speed and effectively push the tyres harder.

They're definitely not a bad tyre, especially for the money and I shouldn't think you would be disappointed with them.

If it's the same setup on a 182 then yes, mine was done last month. Wipers need to come off though which can be a right PITA.

Car felt a lot quicker today, not sure if cams need settling in or not (?), or maybe the new map took a few days to settle in, but it certainly felt a lot more lively.

My exhaust bracket broke its weld on sunday so i had it welded back up today for £20, barg. Started on the door cards on sunday, sort of ****ed up cutting the top but i think i've salvaged it. They are messy but they do the job! Just taped in place for now until i either velcro or plastic rivet them in.

New number plate is fitted, looks much better i think!

Back on the the hunt. Found this one about an hour away from me:

http://pistonheads.com/sales/4064300.htm

Only problem is that it hasn't had the cambelt changed which is a £450 job at 519 automotive. As a result he said the lowest he would go would be £3250. Does that sound a bit steep still to you guys?

Just for anyone else looking at 182's. This car had a hpi mileage discrepancy which I thought could be just human error. Turned up and he can't find the latest MOT certificate nor does he have the service booklet. I immediately walked away. So much for full service history...

IMO, the 182 cup is a pointless car. No weight saving advantage, no climate control, **** seats.

The 182FF is the 182 to go for.

If you're referring to the one I put up it was the FF. He listed it as a cup because of the cup packs. Had every toy on it.

I had my worn Michelin PE2s replaced with new Michelin PS3s on Tuesday, and then did 200 miles to London and back straight after to run them in.

Gave them a little bit of a push in the damp yesterday and they seem good.

Cost was 4* £137, plus £60 for tracking on the Hunter laser jobber (might as-well whilst there).

Damn that's pretty pricey is it not?

Tyre place I use isn't the cheapest, but I like them :). Went there once and saw things like using a Hunter RoadForce machine for the balancing, copper slip greasing the hub, using a torque wrench to do them up rather than air guns, etc, so I stuck with them.

Don't read the recent thread about PS3's...

Don't read CS much so fortunately I don't have a clue what thread you mean :D.

As far as I understand it, Renault said to use Michelin Pilot Exalto 2. The tyre place say they've been discontinued and they can't get them in anymore, and the replacement is the Michelin Pilot Sport 3... so that's what I went for.

I can't really compare between them as I'd be comparing pretty bald PE2s with brand new PS3s :p.

EDIT: Oh, you mean the thread here about the Camskill price? Only just read it! Meh, that's a difference of £47... IIRC the tyre place charge £50 for fitting :p

2 new Rainsports on the front of my Clio. I want it to rain now to see how they are in the wet. Seem good in the dry so far. Hammered it in first from standing and there was loads of grip!

Getting seriously tempted by 2118s.
