Who here owns a Renaultsport?

@SS: The advert makes me think it's a "182 Cup" (model), and not a normal 182 with one or both of the Cup pack options. Is that correct?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what it is. It came without a cup spoiler or splitter, but I fitted a cup spoiler. However it did have cup suspension. So actually I think it was a non-cup with 1 cup pack.

Thanks for pointing that out though, I need to remove the Cup reference as it's not really one. If I remember rightly the true Cups have a really awful interior don't they?

Sad face nick :(

How do you compare cupshocks + cooksports to the ktec coilies?

I know :( I'm going to be gutted when it goes.

I haven't fitted the Cooksports yet. My coilovers are ruined I think, so I got the Cooksports thinking I could enjoy them for a couple of months before I sell, but it turns out my insurance runs out 2nd Feb so I need to sell it now. I found this out 10 minutes after having my order for the springs confirmed!!

I'm fitting them on Sunday.

Cups have the cloth interior. What you have is a standard 182 with the Cup Handling pack (suspension). The Cup Styling pack is what added the spoiler and splitter.

Can anyone remember off their head what the normal idle on a 182 is, and what the higher idle is after it has been done with the RSTuner?

Mine doesn't seem to be happy idling this week... pulls fine though. Mine's idling a bit less than 1K.

Well yesterday the unhappy idle turned into a 'sounds like its gonna stall' and then pulling away it had naff all power and misfiring like ****. Scared me when I pulled away in the Traffic Light GP and had far less power than normal. Still won mind :p. Misfire got slightly better on the journey, but is still pretty bad low down.

It's another injector. Had #3 die about 12 months ago, and this time it's cylinder #4. There's also an error from the pre-cat Lambda, but that's just going to be because of the engine running like ****.

Fortunately I know the part from last time, and can remember exactly how to change them. Renault part # is 8200207049, and it's actually a Weber 'Pico' injector (048H101354 IWP 042).

Good spot then :p
How odd though... out of the 5222 ClioSport 182s sold, only 891 came with no options. 3675 came with the Cup Spoiler option, and 3967 came with the Cup Suspension option. Yours must be one of the few (292) that only had the Suspension!
The Cup model only sold 539 cars, and they were only available in Inferno orange and Racing Blue anyways.

193k and still going strong, gearbox has a bit of a whine to it and ive had to replace the tre's and the ac doesnt work - hit a badger :/...

Unlike the 172, where Cup and standard were completely separate, adding the Cup Pack options to the standard 182 made the Cup itself rather pointless. You could have all the good bits of the Cup added to all the kit that came as standard in the normal model. It doesn't make sense to buy the full Cup version any more.

Yep, the only point in the 182 Cup was the weight saving... but it wasn't enough KG to make the loss of luxuries worth it IMHO.

I've booked my ph2 172 in for a service on the 7th Feb at Diamond Motors ready for it's MOT.

Full service,
Gearbox oil change,
Investigate ABS pump vibration (think it's the bracket needs re-attaching),
Fix massive knocking under hard acceleration (probably gearbox / engine mount)
Clear out rear brake caliper to stop binding (or new pads and discs)

This should set me back a few pennies :( I just wish I could make my exhaust quieter somehow, I've grown out of the noise from my Ktec Stealth now.

Mine's just failed the mot. Centre section to Cat is loose (had it 'fixed' two months ago). And some monkey 'Cliosport' specialist has twisted the brake line on the caliper so it rubs on the suspension. fun fun.

So my list of fixes is:

Full service & Aux belt kit
Gearbox oil change
Thermostat change
Fix brake line
Fix exhaust

Just put two new PS3's on too. Tax at the end of the month too.

Lead_Head. I feel your pain!

Pretty sure he was talking crap, but a salesman (trying to sell me a 182 Cup) told me it had a lightened front windscreen.

Any truth in this?

IIRC the 172 Cup did have, or maybe the earlier version with the Alu Bonnet. But not sure on the 182?

I had that with my cat, had those daft spring bolts in. I just replaced them with normal bolts. Many miles later and its fine.

How often is gearbox oil meant to be changed?

IIRC Opie Oils on Cliosport said two years/20k km's is recommended.

EDIT:

Not sure if checked means to see if it just has some though? :p

That part is replaced and fine. Basically where the cat flange meets the exhaust had cracked and was blowing. My mechanic chopped it off, welded a pipe that would fit in the exhaust. This worked for a little while and now its come loose.

I fitted the new injector for cylinder #4 this morning and gave it a rag around, seems to be fine :).
