Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Had a wash this morning, long overdue! I've not got around to any form of detail on this since last January! shame on me. EGP before Christmas and some Poorboys wheel sealant when the Turini's were refurbed back in Febuary. Inside is a bit of a tip! My sport badge is missing and I need to spray my bullets and refit them.

I'd of done this on the drive but the builders need to sort the camber so the water doesn't run down the side of the house. As you can see they are also in the process of doing the roads too.

Some **** decided to give be a door ding just in front of the door handle which now matches the one on the right.

Pretty sure he was talking crap, but a salesman (trying to sell me a 182 Cup) told me it had a lightened front windscreen.

Any truth in this?

IIRC the 172 Cup did have, or maybe the earlier version with the Alu Bonnet. But not sure on the 182?

It does indeed, i had one put on mine when i had the screen replaced. I believe the normal one is heavier due to heat reflecting or something.

I *know* that 182 Cups and Trophies didn't have auto wiper sensors, but didn't know anything about glass thickness or lack of heat reflecting!

My 182 FF has the normal windscreen, which is UV/Heat Reflecting and has a slight mirrored effect (it's metallic film or something isn't it?) and has down the bottom a small square patch with no coating for French Toll cards etc. Though my Garmin portable Sat Nav works fine through the windscreen anyways without needing to be in the square .

Do you know any of the details of the different windscreens Renault fitted?

I'd guess the Trophy/Cup doesn't have the square patch like the normal screen? Do the auto wipers still work? Is the lack of UV/Heat Reflecting noticeable? And more importantly, just how much weight did it save?

I never had trouble with my coil pack when I had my 172, it was the leads! Also check the leads aren't being trapped under the inlet manifold as I've read that can cause issues. There's a groove on the underside where the leads should go. Could also be lambda sensor related.

What spark plugs is he using? Though I'd say this is less likely the cause of running on 3!

Turned out to be injector number 2 after replacing all the plugs and getting hold of a code reader. So waiting for a new one to replace the single injector.

Spoke to Greenlight last night, best they could do was £549 for the year. Not bad, need to try Sky next and see what they can do!

Have you tried Brentacre then? Greenlight gave me a similar price, and Brentacre quoted me£100 less when it was standard. I've then changed the brakes and exhaust as mods up to 190bhp at the fly are free.

They don't list opening times on their websites, but they've been great to deal with as a broker :)
