Who here owns a Renaultsport?

You want a 172 or 182 with nothing needed doing?

You wont find that for less than 3.5k mate

BTM sell theirs ready to go and all fixed for around 3.5 to 4k.

Mine was 2.5k and cost over £1k in repairs since and now is in a state of perfection (almost) mechanically. Just needs some paint work sorting and a stock exhaust putting on.

Yeah I thought that was a bit off as well, he said the other guy is coming to pick it up tonight. I understand why he did it but it is a bit out of order. I wouldn't have done the HPI check otherwise!

Not so keen on that one, I'd like one that I don't need to do anything to, but that one would need a new Renaultsport badge, that white clio badge looks a bit naff, as do the white wheels, no cup spoiler too. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being picky, well actually I am being picky :p

After sinking so much time and money into my last one, I just want one that is ready to go from the day I buy with all the subtle mods that I like. Basically I want my old one back :p

how much did you sell yours for?

Sorry, I really don't agree.

If I was to sell mine (currently on 92,000) it wouldn't go for more £2500 I reckon. Yes the body isn't in great nick but it doesn't need anything doing.

Agreed. Always see 172's for under £2k on cliosport and the 182's are only a little more normally.

Currently there is an inferno 182 for £1.7k, Flamer 172 for £1600, BG for £2.3k, 172 cup for £1800, that's just looking down the top few of the first page.

Ah yes, I was talking about lower than 60k Miles. Sorry should have been clear on that.

Also with no need of any work as said above.. a 172 or 182 that's just had belts and depahser and other crap done (and i meen just.. not 10k or 15k miles ago) will ask a premium price.
hence why BTM's cars sell with no issue @ the higher prices.

182's are 10 years old, 60k miles cars are going to be extremely rare.

There is actually a 172 cup on there with 76k for £1600 which had it belts and dephaser done this year, though I've not looked at the details that close.

My BlackGold 182 is on 60k. Two owners from new, full service history, a couple of years until the next cambelt change, both cup packs, trophy spoiler with genuine struts, complete suspensions refresh, cooksport springs, two sets of 182 cup wheels, rstuner unit, new exhaust, 197/200/255 Brembo 4pots with 300mm discs.

Not for sale though :p.

Well the one that I nearly got for £2,250 earlier went for £2,600, so I'm not sure I agree. I don't really care how many miles they've done.

It has 12 months tax, MOT due in September, and belts & brakes done in the last year.

Mine went for £2,750 but it needed £400 worth of work doing on it as well. It did have lots of nice stuff with it though, including Trophy Turinis.

What issues are you referring too?

Only bad point he's listed is an issue with the window. I assume you didn't even look at the thread?

Well it seems some go for more than others. History plays a big part in it too.

Also that thread says, OEM dephaser... Wouldn't buy one now without a genuine renault one tbh.

In the end though, people who seem to buy these cars arnt the kind of people that will simply sell them soon. Soo they are worth what ever people want to pay :)

Genuine struts......"You mad bro" I hope you didn't pay retail for those!

I believe the "struts" are for the boot opening as unless you get the correct ones with the larger V6 boot spoiler fitted you have issues with it fouling on the roof when you open the boot.

No no not what I meant pal.

Retail from Renault for the V6/Trophy stuts is something ridiculous like £200 per strut. BMW 1 Series bonnet struts (which are exactly the same) are about £10 a pop.

Yep, £206.26 each . Needless to say that if/when they loose pressure, I won't be replacing and will switch to the BMW ones as everyone else with a V6/Trophy spoiler does! :p
