Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Does that whine go away? Or is it always present when driving and increasing revs on the engine?
The first belt I did on a 182 I over tensioned it and it sounded awful when driving, sounded like a space ship haha

The whine is gone when cars up to temp.
The tapping on the other hand doesn't.

I messaged BTM on facebook and he watched the video just now and said it sounds normal..?

Just got a Second hand ITG Carbon Airbox and filter for £150 (£400 new)
And a RSTuner is on the way, Then will stick the 98Ron map on the 172.

Should add some low down torque :)

Decided to bite the bullet and stump up the extra cash (30p a corner ) and moved to 205/50/15 tyres. The sidewalls have lost that look of being a bit stretched, which is great, but I am now questioning weather 25mm or even 20mm spacers will fit without issues...

Should Mr Plod stop me, at least my tyres are legal now :p

That's just because most websites use the Clio 172 tyre size.

Clio 182 left the factory with 205/45s so that is what I use. However the 195s will still fit...

205/45 for 182, I got Michelin Pilot Sport 3s a few weeks ago and they're great.

Passed my MOT last weekend, no advisories either! Winning!

Together with a Scorpion Cat Back, this is what i'm running too (on a 182). Does add a little low down pull. Only disappointment I have is that the induction kit doesn't get louder at high revs like an open cone filter would, seems loudest at around 4k on full throttle before going quieter again. Thinking about selling my own now.

I'm thinking about spacers on the rear of my 182. Has anyone else here fitted spacers? Any thoughts on what sizes will work without rubbing?

I'm running ET35 wheels which are 10mm further out than standard. and there is room for a little more. This is with 205/45/16 tyres. I think i'd be fine with another 5mm. So somewhere between 10-15 should be fine.

I've just moved to PS3's from Rainsport 3's, I've noticed a lot more lift off oversteer, which is fun sometime, but has made me a little more nervous about pushing the car a little harder. Bit disappointed to be honest, though the wear rate does seem to be better than the RS3's which were almost dead after 3-4 months

Lift off oversteer? Driving like a tool I can barely get it to shift on PS3s. You got them all round? Have they scrubbed in a bit?

All round fitted to the car around a month ago, probably done over 1.5k miles on them now so should be scrubbed in. Also tyre pressures 32 front and 30 rear when cold, which i believe is about standard but could be wrong.

To be honest my driving is normally fairly reserved, as i can't afford to lose my licence, however I do enjoy the odd moment of driving like a tool, when it looks fairly safe to do so (otherwise whats the point in driving a 182).

The thing is i've not had this issue on the Rainsport 2's or the Rainsport 3's previously on the car, I don't think i'm pushing any harder than i was with them fitted to the car either.

Rear dampers are also only 3-4 months old, so that shouldn't be the issue either.

That is very odd. All sounds bang on but the only thing I can ever induce is understeer and that is right on the limit.
